You could definitely do a piece like this! You just need some pencils, some blending sticks, an eraser and above all, a bit of patience!

I'm just missing the damn blending sticks, and the patience. I've got ADD when it comes to finishing drawings. Most of the time I end up spazzing out completely and play with my dog. Or just run and jump around like an idiot.
But, I'll give it a try.

Thanks Laggy, it's good to be drawing again! I had a fellow artist follow me through this one, he popped around every week or so and checked on my progress. He doesn't do much art anymore, but he's forgotten more about this stuff than I'll ever know in a lifetime. In a way he was a great source of inspiration as we both share great memories of Robocop.

The scan was the most difficult part, I'm still not entirely happy with it, but after four hours of messing around with scanner settings I gave up! Turned out not too bad though!

not having a good scanner isnt fun. i dont have a scanner so my art piles up until i finally visit my friend who has a pretty good scanner then i end up uploading a lot at once.
