*Update 1/14/2016: Fixed the leg. Looks slightly better now.---
So this started out as just a quick head sketch then it morphed into this. You never know when will inspiration strikes. Basically I just made things up as I go. There wasn't much planning behind it at all, haha.

I absolutely love this piece! The character herself is so cute and the pattern on her dress is really nice! It's a really nice representation of lolita fashion and it looks like it could be a real coord. I especially love the little detail of the blood on her mouth and the eyeball, it really makes it more interesting to look at and adds a level of mystery to it.
Maybe it's just me but I think it looks kinda weird that her umbrella looks just like the skirt? Although it is super cute I think it should have a more simple design as an accessory because it does almost take away the focus from the actual dress itself.
All in all I think this is a nice piece! I love everything from the little details to the character herself. For something that started as a quick sketch it looks great!

Great work on the bunny print on her skirt and umbrella. The soft, line-less silhouettes of the bunnies give just enough detail without distracting from the rest of the picture. You did a nice job of adding perspective to the ones on her umbrella. I'm not sure if you hand drew that or you used some Photoshop tool, but it looks really nice. The color choices are great. Her very cool-toned, saturated ensemble against the warm, soft, pastel background.Β
Her hair color is really similar to the background, as well as her skin. I might change her hair to a slightly darker color, not by much but just enough so that it stands out against her skin and the background. Another thing you could have done to make her head stand out against the background is to have the umbrella right behind her head, to sort of frame it.Β
While the colors are really good, the line art is kind of sketchy. I know you said it started as a sketch, but it could be crisper.Β

Thank you. The texture on her umbrella is copied and modified from here dress so that I didn't have to hand-draw it again. Saved a lot of time.
Yeah, I was too lazy to make clean line. Since I wanted to have fun with this personal piece, I just went full-on sketchy. :P (Usually I only do clean line when it is a commissionΒ .)

I don't know anything at all about fashion or lolita fashion, but I think that the design on her dress and umbrellas is very cute. The colours work together nicely and the little frill on the ends of both make them seem sophisticated. I really like the way you did the puddle underneath her, the ripples and reflection look good! I like the rain and bokeh effect for the background, with the colours it makes it seem like a calm rainy day. I think you did a good job with her hair and facial details, I like the way the hair flows and the face is well-proportioned.
I think where you need more work is in the body and legs. I cannot tell which leg is in front of which due to line tangents (the stocking disappearing underneath the dress and the thigh to our right share the same line). The leg that's going back up into the dress also doesn't have an effect on the fabric at all which helps lead to that confusion because then I'm thinking that foot is on the other side of her that we don't see but that doesn't make sense with the leg placement. For me it's also just confusing as to why her leg is disappearing into her dress? What is she doing?Β
I think it's supposed to be her left leg lifted, correct? If so, then she should be leaning towards her right leg more, especially with how twisted her spine is to be able to look at the viewer. I think she would be off balance in this position.
This piece makes me feel conflicted. She looks really cute, her umbrella and dress have a playful design, and all of the colours seem fairly light and cheery. However, there's a severed eyeball with what appears to be blood dispersing into the water around it, she's bleeding from the lip and her expression seems to be questioning whatever it is she's looking at. Now looking back at the red streaks in the background I'm thinking that it's to denote something more sinister. I personally don't get a very clear picture looking at this because the brightest, most saturated colours are on her dress and umbrella and they come across as cute and playful, not dangerous. All of the pastel colours help that first impression along. You did a good job of subtle serious touches and making the viewer questioning what it is they're looking at.
I think you did a great job with the colours and the clothing in this piece. The girl's head is also very nicely rendered, and I like the perspective that you tried out on her shoes. Keep up the good work!

Oh yeah, the leg looks so wrong now that you mention it (probably because I didn't plan the pose before hand). I will fix it some time.

I must say I really like your pictures. She looks like a doll until one spots the little trickle of blood in the corner of her mouth. I like the subtle effect this has. And I know by my own experience that umbrellas are a pain to draw, but you did a great job there!
The prints are great as well as the color palette. You nailed the entire skill set except for the shading.
You lose atmosphere by keeping all colors this saturated. I think you did this to accentuate the lovely patterns everywhere and I get that motivation. But everything under the skirt should be a lot darker.
But again, amazing piece!
