You closed your eyes as you broke surface, unable to hear anymore of Eridan's pleas. That's when you were yanked back under the water by Feferi.

"W)(AT TH-E GLUB DO YOU T)(INK YOU'R-E DOING?" She asked very loudly. You stumbled for words before ending up a blubbering mess, crying into Feferi's shoulder. Eridan tapped Fefer's shoulder and asked if he could have a moment alone with you. You shook your head, and Feferi replied no for you, shooing him away before taking you back to her hive.

She then D-EMAND-ED that you tell her why you'd do such a thing, sitting you on her bed.

"H-he... he... Eri... Erica's broke my h-heart," You fumbled to say in between sobs.

Feferi's expression softened before she hugged you tightly. She said a few apologies for being so mean, but you understood. It was almost like committing troll suicide.

"Maybe you just need to give it some time," Feferi said.

"I've liked him for a whole sweep. It's no use anymore, I've been dropping him hints FOREVER and I only snapped on him now. He's obviously never going to fall for me," you replied.

"You're right! Nobody's going to like a girl who cries like you are! So get off your butt and start acting like a big troll!" Feferi gave you a small pep talk.

You thought over her words once or twice before standing. "You're right! But first, I really need to sleep!" Feferi was surprise by your sudden outburst of confidence, and she let you leave. You returned to your own hive and slept for a little bit. You woke up sometime later when someone knocked on your door.

"___! Can I come in?" It was...

You jumped up and made yourself look decent, brushing your (h/l) black hair and fixing yourself up.

"Hello? ___? Are you there?" He shouted again.

"I'm coming!" You shouted, swim/running to the door. You pulled it open and a sad looking Eridan stood there.

"Can wwe uh, can wwe talk for a minute? I'd prefer to go to the surface because you knoww howw much I hate this wwater," Eridan said quietly.

"Sure!" You said happily. You weren't going to let Eridan think that you were still upset.

You both swam up to the surface and stood on shore. There was silence between the two of you at first, but you didn't mind. This way you could listen to the waves of the ocean.

"Listen, uh, ___." He started, you turned and smiled at him. "Stop bein so coddamn cute, I'm tryin to reject you!"

Your heart broke a little, but then regained your balance after realizing that he called you cute, and that it was hard for him to reject you.

"You made that clear last night! I'm okay though, you didn't have to pull me away to talk! We can go back to being friends if that so pleases you!" You smiled at him.

"Fuckin," he muttered before walking closer to you, as if to say something really important.

Instead, he kissed you. Hard.

Your fake expression went straight to astonishment right away as you blushed furiously. You stuttered a few times, not able to make a word. When you finally came to your senses for the better, you slapped him across the face.

"Wwhat wwas that?" He asked, holding the side of his face.

"You don't go fucking around with someone's emotions like that! You really hurt my feelings last night! Then you come a-knocking at my door, saying you want to apologize, then saying that you're trying to reject me, but then you fucking kiss me? I don't know what the FUCK is going through your mind but this is not what I had envisioned! Either you like me or you don't, so what the fuck is it?"

"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I don't know,"

"I can't hear you," you replied bitterly.

"I said I'm sorry, okay? It's hard growwin up, ___! It's hard and scary, okay? I've alwways spent my life in pursuit of a girl and I kinda liked it that wway but then you showwed up and I tried to hard to not like you and then you ended up likin me instead and I don't knoww wwhat to think about it because I'm really fuckin scared ___!" He was half-shouting. You examined him top to bottom. You ended up hugging him, and burying your face deep in his chest. He ran his fingers through your hair, before finally resting his hands on your back. He rested his head in the cape of your neck and he inhaled deeply, most likely smelling the ocean scent on you.

You both drew back, blushing before a gust of wind made you shiver. He saw this and wrapped his cape around you, before swinging an arm around your shoulder and taking you back to his hive.

When you returned, there had been someone waiting inside Eridan's hive for him. You didn't see the person at first, until he turned on a light.

"Aaah!" He yelled, jumping behind you.
