First I must say I've been watching you on youtube for about 2 years and I'm blown away everytime you show us something new. I get the same feelings with this painting. The title you named it shows well. I think the colors are pure and necessary, though I think some light blue-gray would've contrasted well with the blues. For instance, the face is pretty dark, and I love the way you portray faces in all your pieces so I would've liked to see it done here.
Over all, lovely work. I love the splashes of the red and orange. It gives it a sense of warmth while surrounded by the cold blues.
Hope your holidays are great. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

Your mastery of the paint is very evident. The color scheme might need a little work. There is a heavy usage of dark blue that has the effect of making the work seem slightly unbalanced. There is also a compositional issue. A medium sized dark blue shape falls nearly full in the center of the picture, and it's all the viewer can focus on.
While it can be effective to rock the conventional boat a little, I'm not sure if this shape is intentional in that sense. So much of this piece is based on your expressive movements. It is this fact that makes your work intriguing. However, the fact remains that this shape, in its current usage, acts as a stopping point. Overall it's a wonderful piece that displays a wealth of expression. With a few tweaks, this work has a lot of potential. Keep doing what you do. Seeing your work in my mail constantly inspires my to keep improving. Happy Holidays o<e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

The pen work with both black and white ink adds a lot of texture to the piece, and defines the details, also leaving the coloring to be more abstract. The rendering of the facial features throughout the face, with pen, look proportionate except for the nose, from this angle, the nose would nose be as flat, and need more definition to add better perspective. On the other hand, if it was more of a freehand contour, which it might be by the looks of the hair, that'd be understandable.
The cool colors add a moody feel to it, but also is the palette that's used in your work a lot, so after time, looses impact through seeing it so often by the same artist.
The technique in watercolor, like always, is exceptional. Letting the watercolor sink into the edges, blotting it with napkins to add texture, using paint splatters, and abstract shapes to let the colors blend into each other is great. I also appreciate that you don't use color straight from the palette- or at least it doesn't show up that way.
The biggest thing I have trouble with is the darkness around the eyes. I understand from her expression in her eyes is showing off a sense of confusion, or loss, but the black around that much of her eye makes the eyes less clear to see, and not proportionate. I loved the idea with it, but it'd be better to not make it as dark, so you could still get the feel, but also show that the technique and skill you have shows through. Other than that the eye brows, and the actual eyes are done very well, most rendered part of the piece. I love how you used white pen in the eyebrows and in the eyelashes, to pop out in the dark scale, and well as a little bit of red to add emotional distress.
I really love the neck, and the way it appears to suffocate her, not having too much detail, but still the right values.
