There it is, I just couldn't resist, could I?
That's my Monster High OC, Sibyl Gray, based on the main character of the book book "The Picture of Dorian Gray", one of Oscar Wilde's best.
For those unaware of the story, Dorian Gray has some kind of curse (or blessing) that makes his picture age instead of him, maintaining his pure and beautiful appearance forever. However, the painting also absorbs all his worst acts and crimes, reflecting his most wicked and depraved inner self, forcing him to hide this dark secret at all costs.
I just kept asking for myself: this book is sooooo awesome, why is it so underrated? I mean, It's even more powerfull than "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" - because Jekyll can't be blamed by the crimes his inner self commits, but Dorian Gray is constantly aware of his peversions, and also faces the horrible figure he has become from the inside!
How could this be overlooked in the Monster High OC universe?

Omg I was just asking myself why has the creator NOT make a son or daughter of Dorian Gray. Like we have the grand children of Victor Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, so why not Dorian??

Be neat if there was a monster based off of dorian gray in the monster high series. That would give Cleo some competition for a beauty contest.

Wow, I never thought anyone would care enough about . "The Picture of Dorian Gray" to make a MH OC for it. I read it once, great yet confusing. My dad hasn't finished reading it and he started before me, too much ranting he says.
I really like the idea of this character. Good . Job

Dorian Gray gave its soul (to the Devil, the evil forces, is not very clear) to stay young forever while the picture would age and carry all his sins and wounds instead. After he accidentally killed his beloved one, Dorian was poisoned by Lord Henry frivolous philosophies about his youth and how he should enjoy it at its max. He abused his youth: he spent his rich fortune in luxuries, lust, drugs and all kind of wrong stuff... And the portrait would become older, nasty and reflect the soul of an evil, stingy human being.
Dorian started to keep his portrait hidden on a wine cellar (or something like this), and he became paranoiac about it. After he killed someone again because of the portrait, Dorian disappeared with the corpse and decided to use his youth to purify his soul: he started to travel, study on many colleges, and even tried to enter celibacy. When he came back to his town, everyone was old and aging, with the exception of Dorian Gray - and that started the rumors about him.
And finally, someone starts stalking Dorian because of one of his murders in the past. After he sees that the portrait not only wasn't healed, but looked actually worse then before, he couldn't take no more: he tried to kill himself, but that would be in vain. He had to attack the portrait instead... And when he did so, the portrait came back to it's original picture, while his dead body would become old and monstrous.

You ain't kidding Grey has been overlooked in the MH fandom. I can think of only 3 children I've seen, one of which being my own OC (the first to use Dorian as a Monster Parent). Glad to see this story getting some more love!
And speaking of love, I love love LOVE how much detail and inspiration you left from the book! Her name alone is perfect. The outfit style, as well as her interest in the arts is something I'd expect from a Grey child, but the dislike of theater was unexpected. (But I so get where said dislike came from >:3)
I really hope to see more of this gal in the future, because she is lovely and well thought out.

And yep, but I can see why you missed her - she's one of my oldest pieces (and seriously needs an update). It should tell you something when she was my first OC of anything, so yikes. XD I've developed her character more, just haven't actually drawn/written it all out yet.

i love this oc i don't read much books like that but i will see if i can find a copy cause it does sound very interesting <3 i'm happy to see an artist type mh oc specially one that is simplistically beautiful like her. ^_^ at first before i read it I thought her to be the daughter of the Mary girl in IB but as i read i was very happy to read the true original for her design and enjoyed her very much! <3 i look forward to seeing more of her. and if she needs more friends or a painting buddy let me know. ^_^

Thanks! It's a book I highly recomend, but because Oscar Wilde was so controversial in his time period, the book didn't get as much feedback as Robert Louis Stevenson's "Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"...
