Description Edit: IT GOT IN NINTENDO POWER!!!! (as an honorable mention...but still! )

This is my second entry for the Twilight Princess contest at Nintendo Power. For the handdrawn category.

I decided to use my lucky coloring technique (if you can call it that) to do this picture. Start with watercolors, add colored pencil, and add sharpie marker and gel pen. It's lucky because I have won with it twice when I didn't deserve it at all.

But I'm definitely not going to win this contest, because there are just too many other good entries. And my concept behind this is pretty stupid. Actually, there is no concept at all. I just wanted to draw Zelda and practice painting.

And I apologize for the lame background. I experimented with other backgrounds, but I just couldn't pull anything else off. Eh. Too late now. The contest ends tomorrow (Last minute entries! Woo!) And I have All State percussion try-outs! (which I will fail miserably at...) But yes. This was fun.

Wow, I love this! Congratulations for the feature in Nintendo Power! I love your technique, and the detail is awesome. And so it the background! I especially love the wolf Link reflecting in the sword!

wow, the gel pen is actually pretty ingenious. it adds wonderful opaque highlights and really brings it out. all in all, Im not surprised you won at all. ^_^

This is gorgeous, Mari! The colors are fantastic. Have they announed the winners yet? This is probably the toughest contest to judge in Nsider history! O_O

I agree the bg is a bit subpar for you. But I guess I'll look on the bright side and say that it least it doesn't distract the viewer from Zelda.

My jaw pretty much dropped when I saw this on the contest thread. It's just so beautiful! Love the reflection on the sword. Though, technically, with the sword's blade being shaped the way it is, you could never see the entire picture on it.
Actually, my original image concept involved a reflection too, but I didn't have the time or the resources to pull it off...

Hahaha. I'm no good with reflections. So yea, I guess it's not really accurate, but it's too late to change it now.
