Description "The Order likes to make exceptions, Siaela. They did so for your-- our sake, so many moons ago. It was obvious what lurked in the council's hearts when they made the decision to open our path to you, though I never once doubted you would become anything but a master among us. It was your destiny and one I will always be proud of. Still, more importantly, I am proud of you. Try to remember that, no matter what transgressions seem to befall us in this life or the next."
-- Jedi Master Yahren

According to the Jedi Archives, there was a planet hidden deep within the Outer Rim Territories that was believed to have been first discovered by Kaen Fey's mentor, Jedi Master Yahren. As it was in Yahren's words, he was in a nearby quadrant attempting to apprehend a suspect for crimes against the Republic when he stumbled across the alien world after learning of its location from a smuggler who had done previous business with the natives there. Instead of carrying out his mission there, though, Yahren instead spent several years on the alien world, learning the ways and culture of the natives he came to identify as the Kaldorei, the 'Children of the Stars'. Yahren, having already been quite an unorthodox and eccentric member of the Jedi Order, chose not to disclose the whereabouts of the planet to it and instead brought only one child among the natives back with him to Coruscant to become his next pupil, decades before Kaen was even born.

Despite the Jedi Order's numerous attempts to understand more about the alien world she came from, Siaela, with Yahren's guidance, was considered the only known Jedi of her mysterious race for untold centuries. Still, Yahren revealed at least some information on the lore of her people, speaking at length tales that were handed down to him as more than myth. As it was, the Kaldorei of the unknown planet arrived there through a magical portal unlike anything the Jedi Order had ever encountered before. It was this portal, according to one legend, that was formed out of desperation to escape a world of endless conflict. The Kaldorei who believed it owed their lives to what they fondly spoke of as 'The Highborne,' an entity they say created the portal and lead a handful of their ancestors through it to find salvation on the other side where they could rebuild their lives and no longer feel the hands of tyranny around their throats.

The Highborne, to Yahren's knowledge, was a male of their race. Why there was little knowledge remaining of his existence among the Kaldorei, some say he took another name for himself after the small exodus he lead, giving up his old life to raise a family for many centuries till none could identify him as the being he once was. Yahren even considered that The Highborne may have even still been alive when he arrived on the planet, observing how the majority of its natives he befriended had the gift of immortality, in simple terms. There were few among them who looked aged at all and it was this fact among others that helped Yahren decide not to reveal the whereabouts of the planet, knowing that even members of the Jedi Order might have been tempted to the Dark Side, had they the power the Kaldorei had been keeping to themselves for aeons. Fortunately, the Jedi Council respected Yahren's reasoning for it, deciding not to investigate further.

And so it was that Siaela became the first known Kaldorei to achieve the rank and gifts of a Jedi Master, instructed almost entirely by Yahren's hand. She was a young woman by the time Kaen Fey came to be the next apprentice of her eccentric master and some say instructed Kaen herself which brought the two closer together as like-minded protectors of the Republic. Some say they were even lovers for a brief time, although Siaela had by then come to have several disagreements with the Jedi Order and sought to distance herself from their ranks, taking assignments that kept her far from the interests of the Core Worlds. Despite an inquisitive spirit that yearned to know more about the galaxy, Siaela grew apathetic and withdrawn among allies and friends alike. Kaen, being one of her closest, believed the harsh rules and regulations held dear by the Order held some responsibility for her nature in those days, although he never once believed that any of it would result in her turning to the Dark Side. Although the temptation was surely there, Siaela was a capable master of her own emotions and, despite the so-called brief relationship she had with Kaen, she was a model Jedi who fought purely for the Light in her own way. Her past accolades were also a testament to her untainted character. Kaen knew she had a wild side, however. Harbouring strong feral instincts, Siaela had the grace and mind of a feline on the hunt, including the desires of one. It was this side that intrigued Kaen the most about her nature and on several occasions it was his more calm and collective self that made the two reliant on each other, understanding that they shared a balance that helped them thwart many odds against them. Yet it was this reliance that struck a nerve with the Council, who proclaimed that it made them too possessive of each other. It was in their opinion that the two needed to be separated.

It was the last straw in Siaela's mind. Although she never officially left the Order, Siaela nevertheless disappeared from it, having an interest to become a permanent sentinel in the Outer Rim. Still, Kaen lost contact with her shortly after that, believing that she took his old master's advice to return to her people and teach them what he could not of the galaxy at large. Whether she did take that path is unknown to all but Yahren, who some say also returned to the unknown planet the Kaldorei came to speak of as 'Elune'. Sadly, Kaen lost the guidance of both his closest friends and mentors with it, never knowing for certain their fates after their falling out with the Order. It would, in part, help shape his own destiny.

To be honest, I could see myself drawing/writing more for this character, but we shall see. As for drawing Night Elves... it's been awhile. Same goes for something Star Wars-ish.

So... a Jedi Night Elf? Hey, it could happen. Same reason I'd consider creating some Orion lass from the Star Trek Universe having a falling out with the Jedi to become a Sith... because... you know... carnal appetites... and stuff. lol, speaking of... it's kinda fun playing as one in Star Trek Online. (Even if their men can only be bald ingame!) Who needs the Federation anyway when you can have a bridge of hot green women, (who are strangely enough not all scantly clad because I believe in ARMOUR and STUFF!), and salute the propaganda of space vikings who bow to no dogs? [link] Qa'pla!

Wait... did I just speak something in Klingon? No~! I am not a Trekkie... I am not a Trekkie... I am not a Trekkie...

Video games raised me to believe that if I run around in my underwear, swords won't be able to pierce me, and I refuse to believe any different.
Love the ideas you're using, beautiful piece as always!

Thanks Kixxi.   lol, and yeah, who is to say video games are wrong, right?  Better teachers than what you'd find in public school systems, anyway.
