Wow...I have been super bad about uploading art recently. Here is a preview of my workspace as of now. Yay Snow Leopards! I'm not just getting back to painting again after a two month break. I needed a break from painting in general, and also summer time in Colorado is full of hiking and camping for me. I have to get outside and fill up with my inspiration to get me though the long winter months. Just got back from a camping trip, in which we could see the milky way in the sky. It inspired me to paint another starry piece.

I can never get salt effects like this. My salt just sits there and doesn't "melt" in lol. Super jealous. Looks sooooo awesome.

What kind of salt (I assume) for the starry effect do you use?

Thank you! I did not use any salt on this piece. Salt is very unpredictable, so I didn't want to use it because I wanted the background to be more controlled. I lay down a wash of wet paint, then when it isn't super wet, I dip a clean wet paintbrush onto the wash in spots. This creates the spreading effect of the paint.
