Thank you! Yes, although I'm not quite sure if he should be young that much. Small anthro animals look adorable for sure, but to me it's just all about looks. It's hard to make them interesting characters, as small kids don't have that much of a personality. They still grow, learn a lot of things and that shapes their traits and partly determines how they will act when they will become older. And that's why I'm afraid that Olivier might be a bland character, just a typical 3-year-old child.
"Le Doux" is a nice name. It sounds very smooth. I don't want to just copy Pepe's "surname". That wouldn't even make any sense, since his sister is married and took her husband surname. Because they're skunks, I could simply refer to stench, but... it's not that original and creative, isn't it? Idk, I hope I'll be able to come up with something soon.

Well, do what you feel like you need to do to make Olivier interesting to you. But for me, growing up with toddler-like kids that age. While they may not have a very distinct personality trait that makes them different from everybody. They're still some traits, like some are more outspoken than others and more outgoing. They're all curious, which always makes for some interesting scenarios. Also, other older characters around them have to watch what they do, so that the younger character doesn't copy any bad habits. This is just some advice or tidbits on what I think you can do with a toddler character. But at the end of the day, it's totally up to you and what makes you happy with your character
Oooh I see, okay. And well, it's a place to start anyhow, sometimes it helps going through some of the more obvious directions for names and such, just to help give you options to build up from. And I hope you'll be able to come up with something too Sorry I couldn't be more help , but I too struggle with names, let alone also surnames

Cute little guy Yeah, children can definitely be lovable little angels at times, but miserable little devils at others. They're young and are still learning the proper ways to behave and act, after all! I must say, I do think children can be rather difficult to write for. It can be very easy to portray children as knowing a lot more than they should at those ages and talking more complex than most kids in real life normally do. Probably because you see a lot of series that portray children like this, especially in ones in which the main characters are all kids and there's little focus on adults. Granted you do get some children like that (I was reading advanced books about shipwrecks and WWII by the time I was 7 and was in a "Gifted and Talented" program as a young child), but it's definitely not the 'norm' with real-life kids. I admit child characters are something I do struggle a bit with
Interesting that it sounds like the family dynamic is very similar to my own Linda's. She is also the middle child of her family and has an older sister and a younger brother although the age gap is not quite as large (they're all about 4 years apart in age). Kind of hope Sophie's sister isn't anything like Linda's big sister Laura used to be (vain and haughty and looking down upon other people although she is trying to turn things around as she's gotten older and wiser), and I would really hope little Olivier here doesn't grow up to be anything like Linda's brother Ernie (a conniving, scheming two-faced huckster out to leech others for money). But all of us did start off as cute children, you know? (Well, maybe not since not all children are cute although granted the ones that aren't can't really help that...) We start off as that but can change drastically the older we get. It can be interesting and sad how much people change and evolve as they grow up, can't it? I doubt he will turn into something like that though
I'd suggest names for the family but considering this is Looney Tunes it'd have to be something with a pun in it (most likely having to do with odor/stench) and...I'll be honest, I'm not really a big fan of furry characters having puns for last names. It's something I more tolerate/accept than really love; that is probably why all of my characters have realistic actual last names than silly ones. Though I will say it is more creative than just giving a furry character the same last name as their species (that just sounds so unimaginative to me, it would be like a person with the last name Human-Which apparently actually is so for some people). I dunno, it's just me I guess, personal preferences and all that
