Now now there, you should put more faith in your pokemon :3

That makes me wanna see if I can defeat the Heatran in Stark Mountain with a skarmory. I'll breed one, hatch it, then train it against pokemon with EV's that raise Special Defense, then the Skarmory would have no fear of fire! It would laugh in the face of magma! Of course a well placed critical hit or a Blast Burn from Charizard would still bring it down >_>

I'm afraid that no matter how much EV you put into its (Special) Defense, it will always go down in one hit when hit by Fire or Electricity by an EVed or just Legendary Pokémon. That's how the games are Of course, Focus sash can save you one turn

Huh, yeah, I am talking about the user battles. In-game battles are usually very boring, except for maybe some challenges like in the case of Pokémon Battle Revolution, when I chose Pokémon for the next battle on a wheel, and the rival was choosing it the same way. I had to bring average Pokémon into the battle because if I brought in some powerful legendaries and missed them on the wheel... ops, the rival would definitely win with them over my Kakuna.

I think Steve from the E4 in Ruby/Sapphire was one of the few in-game battles, aside from extras like the Battle Frontier, that was genuinely exciting for me. Of course a few of his team has dome odd choices for moves (Armaldo with Water Pulse!?) but the battle was great unless you're A) Overleveled, or B) Packing high power legendaries. After my first win I started using my own teams based on guys I liked over recommended moves/power teams, and it was even more enjoyable. Awesome music too.

lols on the battle frontier... You know in Emerald where there is that one building that you are assigned random preset pokemon and you do a 1v1 or a 2v2 battle? Well, I had Lapras and something else, and I was fighting... I think it was either a Gengar or a Dusclops, and I believe a grass type. Well, the battle lasted eight minutes or so, with just my lapras and the ghost type. I eventually lost because I was reduced to using Struggle and KO'ed myself XD

And a really bad memory from Red version: I was in the route prior to the town with Koga, and all my team was KOed except for my Ghastly, and I was fighting a Clefariy. Not good, since I couldn't hurt it and it couldn't hurt me. I had to shut off the power and reset XD
