The console-tans' popularity had hit a high point during the fifth generation, and naturally, it led groups of outraged parents to find excuses to demonize them. Ignoring the fact that there was not really anything to do on the planet for the next few hundred years while terraforming went on, they went for the most obvious angle, calling the console-tans' scenarios nothing but time wasters. While most scenario development companies ignored the frothing mass of concerned parents, Nintendo took it upon themselves to fix the problem they had. Their solution was to take their scenarios into the next dimension, and create a console-tan that could compress what seemed like longer scenarios into a tiny timeframe. The Virtual-Boy-Tan, or VB-Tan, was this solution. Sort of.

The VB-tan is not powerful by any means, even when compared with the previous generation console-tans. This was to offset the costs of the highly experimental neural-chrono-compressor, valued at over half the console-tan's price. While it worked, it was not without side effects. Scenarios played out by the VB-tan are simplistic and though they are time-compressed, they do not last long. Prolonged use(from the point of view of within the scenarios, that is) was quickly found to cause painful headaches, and the console-tan was quickly discontinued. She is also considered difficult to use, as she tends to lose balance while engaging in her scenarios. Still, collectors of the strange and innovative often have a VB-tan in their collection, and it's said that the newer generation will offer a less painful version of the same experience.
