I looked through all your photos... I have literally never seen handmade era clothing so perfect, at least not outside of Hollywood. You should be costuming movies, my dear.

While I lean towards late victorian myself, I just love your creations - this one in particular (what a fabric!) The matching hats really finish the look too

Absolutely gorgeous! I'd love wearing something like this ... and have an occasion to wear it. I don't think fashions came any more glamorous than they did in the 18th century.

AlAlNe In reply to Baroquecat [2010-11-14 17:52:46 +0000 UTC]

I totally agree! The 18th century was the height of glamor to me.

How did you make this incredible work of art?
I'm now learning to sew. I really want to be able to make this type of gown in the future.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlAlNe In reply to MeikoMeikoPie [2010-05-19 05:10:52 +0000 UTC]

Well... I cant say it was simple, these dresses are epic. But if you love the look that is what you should try to sew. Get an easy pattern, "simplicity" is a great way to start. Have fun!!

Hi! Thank you for the kind words,,, I'm in love with Marie Antoinette too. Someday I will get to Versailles! I would be happy to recommend patterns for you. The dresses aren't as hard as they look,,, they just take a lot of time and fabric. >o<
