Oh yeah. And i bet once Zira's heart is ripped violently apart, she'll focus back on the negatives in her life and her jealousy of Mheetu will push her to 'get rid of him' ... Kovu has to become future king somehow.Β

That's a good point. Pretty tragic that Zira ends up mentally and physically abusing what was basically her 'piece' of Endesha, but it makes sense why she grieves his passing, maybe Endesha will have a similar 'i'm sorry Zira i tried' moment, that would rip Zira's heart to bits, poor gal.Β

Aww bye bye Endesha, we always loved you
Also love the front faces on panel 3, they're so nice to look at artistically
(edit, in said panel Zira's missing her nose gradient, not sure if this is big enough to warrant an edit)

Damn it. This is JUST like when Naanda left and didn't come back.Β Β I can't believe Zira ends up hating Simba instead of her scum father in the end... Simba did nothing wrong, Scar's responsible for all this mess.Β Β

My guess it's because Scar basically forces himself to be the only thing she has. Her mother is dead, she distanced herself (at Scar's insistence) from others who actually cared for her, and now her mate and new pride is about to be wiped out because of Scar. Scar basically made himself her entire world. It also doesn't help that Zira has had a very bad time growing up literally since birth because of the hostile take over of the Eastlands and what she wants more than anything is a place where she belongs, but because Scar used that to manipulate her she had this idea planted in her head that without Scar she has nothing. It's neat that she did take initiative to leave Scar's toxic influence to live her own life, and maybe in another time she could have put her past behind her and lived the life she's wanted.Β
So it makes sense that Scar placing himself as the center of Zira's world would have a terrible effect on her when Scar himself is removed violently from it. The only thing she could do was blame Simba, and in turn become just as toxic of a parent as Scar was.Β
Or at least that's what I'm guessing happens to her. Though despite how shitty her life ended up being, that definitely won't excuse her from what she does to her own cubs just the same way Scar's experiences as a cub doesn't justify his actions as king. Like killing an entire innocent pride out of childish spite.Β Β
I don't know if this is what raven is planning on doing, but it seems like it. We'll just have to wait and see.

That's true. Zira had Naanda, Mnyama killed her, she has Endesha, Scar or 'someone' inevitably kills him, all she'll have in the end is Scar, and when Simba comes back and leads uprising against her father, then he meets his horrific demise, eaten and burned alive, that would probably destroy Zira's mind entirely, to lose her only parent and not be able to say goodbye? i bet that would drive her to find vengeance and kill Sarabi, explaining her absence and Simba's hatred against the Outsiders. Like Zazu said. "Backstabbing and murderous." and Zira probably did something horrible to warrant her exile. In a way if this happens, Simba and Zira would technically be even. Losing both their parents, her father and his mother. Β
That would sting hard... Simba still has a mother at the end of TLK after all, that would hurt Zira in a lot of ways. "I lost my whole family... why does SIMBA get to keep his mother? that brute Mnyama took my mother from me... and SIMBA took my FATHER from me.... i'm going to make him regret EVER returning to the Pridelands..."Β Β
Plus when you think about it, Simba taking out her father and claiming the Pridelands in the end of the film, would remind her of the time the rogue lions killed her grandfather, mother and hurt her aunties, perhaps when Simba roars once assuming his place at the top of Priderock, Zira's PTSD takes over, and instead of seeing her cousin, she sees the 'shadow' of Mnyama.... the whole time she plots murder of Simba, she doesn't see her own family anymore, she thinks of him as being the incarnation of the same psycho that KILLED her mother in the Eastlands, that's why she makes it her eternal mission to train Kovu to rip apart his family. That way, killing Simba in her eyes, would avenge Naanda AND Scar.Β Β

Or 3rd option, Mnyama has just taken over the Pride and kills him and his pride (the Outsiders from Lion King II) imprison Zira and she is impregnanted with Kovu and Vitani, causing her her to lose her mind and go over the edge.Β
Scar and his hyenas rescue her and kill Mnyama, thus Zira is loyal to her father once more and forever.Β Β Β

It probably won't go down like that, but, hey, it'd be pretty dark if Naanda's killer came back to hurt Zira one last time. And he would finally get the death he deserves. Raven said he was gonna return at some point, perhaps this is the time?Β Β

Good point. Though keep in mind he likes 'young females' as he first said in the beginning of the East Lands comic, it'd be weird, but Mnyama abused little Zira and had his way with Sarabi and Naanda's sisters, he's a psycho, and Zira probably became a psycho somehow, i think if he has a son, it may be Kovu, i could be wrong of course, but, Mnyama and Kovu have a STRANGE resemblance, compare Adult Kovu with Mnyama in the comic, plus, Mnyama already has sons, Mtoto and Chumvi, maybe Kovu will be his 3rd son? and thus, Zira resents her family for what he puts her through, threatens to kill Vitani once she rebels and stops loving Kovu for going against Scar's wishes. I don't even think Scar threatened to kill Zira.Β Β
