I find myself reading these again after just going back to look at one page!Β I love Nala's development that we got to see none of in the film.Β And obviously you already know that Zira is breaking my heart.Β Mheetu is adorable in this page.

"I suppose I can allow it... For you". Scar is at that controlling point when he has to emphasize he is ALLOWING his mate to name his cub something he doesn't consider good enough.
Hey, Scar, just be glad she didn't suggest... Oh, I don't know... Moyo? Simba? Mufasa? (Yeah, I know Sarafina would never do that because she isn't stupid, it's just a joke).
Oh, Nala, she is such a dear... I love how she sees Mheetu not as Scar's son, but as her brother. While Zira sees him only as Scar's son, not her brother. Interesting.

Ive seen a lot of different versions of mheetu (where he is the son of Scar) and yours is such a good blend of Scar and Sarafina :3 hes too freaking adorable

I bet they hate each other's guts, haha,Β Zira struck her out of rage and Nala's mother and her son with Scar is getting better treatment from Scar than Naanda andΒ Zira ever did, it'd definitely reinforce the idea inΒ Zira's head that Nala and her family are to blame for a lot that went wrong withΒ Zira's family, that and SHE knows what really happened to Nala's father, oh it's so intense! The tension will soon ignite itself once Nala bringsΒ Zira's thought-to-be-dead cousin to take down Scar and i'm sureΒ ZiraΒ will never forgive her for that, hence in the film they're all 'oh its YOU'Β

It's funny, though I know my favourite character from SP is probably going to be pushed to do twisted things, i still love her, but keep in mind, this doesn't mean I hate Nala and Sarafina, i enjoy all the characters to be honest, i can recognise the different hardships and stories they've all gone through and still endure, i'll be sad when Saffy, Akina and the semi canon group are killed off, i can't help but find Raven's perspective on Scar's family a bit more interesting than the other characters, i can't help but feel sorry for the future Outsider Queen since we saw how her story started in the Eastland Chronicles, born and raised in darkness and didn't get much interaction with her mother who was slaughtered while helping them escape, suffered great trauma from the rapist and genocider that destroyed her family and plays a big part into why that sweet girl becomes a monster driven by hate in the end, Raven's really added a lot of depth and reasoning for why the baddies turned bad and how they were never just typically evil for the sake of evil, i haven't had that kind of feeling ever since reading Savu's TLK comics.Β Β

It's true, I do like well developed villains who actually have a legitimately good reason for why they turned evil. I enjoy all the characters too, and seeing how they become the characters they become and grow into.

Finally caught up on this! Mheetu is so cute! I want him. I love the way you draw Sarafina and Nala, but my stupid brain can't tell the difference between them. They legit look like twins on this.

Nala's eyes are a richer shade of green and her eyes are a bit more slanted than Sarafina's. Sarafina's got some more rounded, cub-like features. Nala also has larger, bolder eyelashes.

I'm in love with how you draw these. They're so on model with the movies, and you've even got a bit of your own flair in them as well <3 Especially with those subtle whiskers I'm seeing on Scar. And those eyelashes on the lionesses-- dang~!

Isn't Nala an adult lioness by now? It seems that Sarafina is around 40-50 years in human age when she had Mheetu. I guess Nala and Simba have their cubs by the time Mheetu is an older teenage lion.

Well, in this comic at least Mufasa was portrayed as a very young adult when he took the throne and had his short reign...he probably died at the human equivalent of 25, I'd guess.Β Scar is the same age ( it's implied he fathered Zira while still a teen ), so I would place him at around 35 here, somewhere in that area.Β Sarafina is slightly younger than Scar, so she'd be 30-ish.Β Nala is a young adult around 18.Β I know the ages I just gave don't add up if they're human ( especially in the Sarafina/Nala case because she would have had to have her at human "12" in that case, and she obviously wasn't that young in the comic ) but lions do age differently than humans, even relative to each other ( and they don't experience menopause so females can have cubs until they die, though they do get less fertile with age ).Β And these are semi-anthropomorphosized lions, so the rules could be further different.Β Just my best guess.Β
