Description
Although I know that this film was a box office flop and that it is considered the worst film from the Pixar animation studios, but despite that, I saw the trailer and I was left wanting to see the film, especially because of the animation and the plot, since it tells a romance between a fire girl and a water boy. This film is called: "Elemental", directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, made by Pixar animation studios and released in 2023. This story takes place in a universe where the four elements inhabit: water, fire, earth and air in an anthropomorphic way, where supposedly, the elements do not mix and the fire elements are looked at as destructive elements and judged by others; such is the case of Ember's parents, a fire girl whose father decides to leave her in charge of the family business since she was a child, but due to Ember's impatient temperament being fiery and explosive (no pun intended), it is difficult for her to run her father's business, since it's something she doesn't like and everything changes until she meets Wade, a water boy who decides to close her family's business due to the water leak that Ember caused accidentally and when Ember tries to persuade Wade not to broadcast it to the office because they could close down her father's business. Thus, Wade and Ember fix the water leak and Ember finds something she is passionate about doing which is fiberglass and by spending time together, Ember and Wade begin to fall in love, despite being opposite elements and not being able to touch each other and even though Wade tries to make Ember see that she has to choose her life and not do what others tell her, Ember disagrees with him, leading Wade to tell her that she is afraid to do what she wants and their relationship angers the father of Ember, since he and her mother were marginalized and judged by the other elements, having a prejudice against the water elements and although Wade confirms his feelings to Ember, she reciprocates and in the end, the two manage to finally touch each other and they kiss and Ember's father gives the go-ahead and allows Ember to choose what she wants to do with her life and in the end, she and Wade leave Element City so Ember can study fiber glass and be with the person she loves.
I must say that the story seems to me to be very tender and beautiful and the animation seems to me to be very attractive (although the truth is that the settings reminded me of those of the Zootopia movie) and the relationship between Ember and Wade seems very beautiful to me, although the ending feels a bit farfetched since it should be impossible for both Wade and Ember to have been able to touch each other since we all know what happens when water and fire mix, but despite that, it seems like a good love story to me and I find it refreshing that after so long, Disney and Pixar have decided to make a love story because I felt that it was necessary to see a love story, even if there is no villain as such and see how Ember and Wade develop their relationship and the moment I saw how they hugged and kissed at the end (ah, I've never felt such tenderness before for a kiss between two characters)
Elemental may not be the best Pixar movie, but I don't consider it the worst either (for me the worst movie would be Planes, those movies seem like just copies of the Cars franchise to me), Elemental is a nice movie, even if the plot is generic and a bit far-fetched, and although there is a non-binary character, but I definitely liked it a lot and for the final rating I give the movie an 8. 💧🔥🌱💨
