Description I remember how much I eagerly waited for the release of this film, but unfortunately, in my country it was never released in theaters and it was released directly to the Netflix platform and I only recently had the chance to watch it after so many things I had to do at work and homework from the university, but I was finally able to see this film and it was worth it, so much so that I consider it superior to the original series in many aspects, because in just an hour and a half, they were able to do what 5 seasons couldn't in terms of plot and character development, not to mention that the animation is much better, although the songs are not that memorable in my opinion (only two songs had relevance for me). Anyway, I am going to talk about the movie: “Miraculous Ladybug And Chat Noir: The Movie”, directed by Jeremy Zag, based on the Miraculous Ladybug series created by Thomas Astruc and released in 2023 on the Netflix platform. This film gives a slightly different approach to the series, but without changing the plot and its events, since the film summarizes the first season of the series, although everything is summarized in an hour and a half, detailing more clearly the development of the story and without putting so much filler, although it is more musical than the series itself. In this version, some things in the series change to make them slightly different in the movie, such as the fact that Marinette Dupain-Cheng is now more shy, clumsy and insecure than she was in the series, Adrien is much more self-conscious in the film although he is not the model of his father and suffers more due to the absence of his mother, Master Fu is much more serious and a bit crazy in the movie, Chloe is not as bad as she is in the series and even Gabriel Agreste has aspects which make him more sympathetic to the audience, although he is still negligent and very cold and serious with his son and they also change the personalities of Tikki and Plagg a bit. The film retells the events of the series in a different way, because at the beginning, Master Fu explains what the miraculous are and how powerful the butterfly miraculous is, Marinette meets Adrien in the school library and when he takes her hand, she falls in love with him, just as she meets Master Fu and Tikki in another way, although it is true that she saved Master Fu's life, Tikki was the one who decided to choose her as Ladybug and so, later, she meets Chat Noir at Notre Dame and the two fight for the first time against a gargoyle created by Hawk Moth (who has much more power here than in the series, being able to create more akumas, as well as Ladybug's yo-yo seems to have a mind of its own and move on its own and Chat Noir has infinite accesses to his Cataclysm power) and so, Ladybug and Chat Noir fight against the gargoyle working as a team, managing to defeat it and Master Fu tells them that they must work as a team to defeat Hawk Moth and so, in over the course of the film, Adrien and Marinette get to know each other better and spend a lot of time together, just as Ladybug and Chat Noir defeat the enemies sent by Hawk Moth one after the other, little by little Marinette falling in love with Adrien and Chat Noir falling in love with Ladybug, but in the end, Hawk Moth decides to akumatize himself to face Ladybug and Chat Noir and in the final battle, Hawk Moth manages to take the miraculous from Ladybug and discovers that Chat Noir is actually Adrien (realizing that he hurt his son, giving up the butterfly miraculous) and explains his reason for reviving his mother, but Adrien tells him that he should let her go and move on and Gabriel ends up being arrested and at the winter ball, Adrien and Marinette go together, thus revealing their secret identity, although it is revealed that in the end, Nathalie finds Emily's body along with the peacock miraculous, revealing that there will be an upcoming movie.
Although the movie recounts the events of the series in a different way, I think the movie is a bit more developed and portrays the relationship between Marinette and Adrien and Ladybug and Chat Noir much better, although obviously there are changes in the movie that I didn't like; such as: that the akumas possessed a person instead of entering an object and that Ladybug did not have to use her Lucky Charm to fight the villains and therefore, she had no need to purify the akumas, I also didn't like that they left out the umbrella scene from the film, although in general, I liked the film, because at the end, both heroes have a direct confrontation with Hawk Moth instead of in the series only Ladybug confronting Monarch and Hawk Moth's reaction when he finds out that Adrien is Chat Noir, I found it more realistic than the reaction Gabriel had in the series when he found out Chat Noir's true identity and I liked how Marinette sacrificed herself for Chat Noir in the final battle and that now the two can be together after revealing themselves their secret identities. Although by the end of the fifth season, the threat of Monarch is over and Marinette has recovered all the miraculous, I can't wait to see how the sixth season of the series will develop, since it will have Lila Rossi as the main villainess, who got hold of the butterfly miraculous and now Adrien and Marinette have a much more stable relationship, although they continue not knowing about each other's secret identity, but still, Miraculous Ladybug is one of my favorite series and I look forward to the continuation and the end of the story and the final rating that I give to this movie is 9. 🐞🐈‍⬛🦋
