I dont get it. Peach is around 20-25 years old and Daisy is 15-20 years old, and have barely any backstory to them and little Ms. New Thang comes with the dramatic backstory.

I liked Rosalina's backstory, I thought it added something interesting to the game. I never really had any special preference for her after that. It may be true her backstory maintains her popularity, I can't say for sure.
Though to my surprise I did become something of a Rosalina fan after I wrote a story with her. I never got into this idea that a character is liked based on how 'tragic' their story is. It's the fact they aren't defined by tragedy that makes one admirable. Otherwise you just have a pity case, and that's not something I really enjoy.
But hey, we all like things for different reasons. I don't let others define why I like what I like and I see that here, too.
