Description Everybody hate Sansa.
I don't.
I think that Sansa is one of the most real character of the entire saga, because she's just a teenage girl with a crush!
ok she had a crush on a jerk but that's not the point.
All are surprised the behavior of Sansa, the fact that it is so 'submissive, but I would like to analyze the situation well:
There is a little girl who was born and raised on tales of knights and ladies, with the story of the prince charming , that there will always be a male to rescue her,at some point she discovers that her Prince is an asshole, which destroyed the family, who isolated, manipulated, threatened and beaten her, what should do this girl?
If we were seeing Rambo, she would make an ass, but Sansa is not Rambo, she isn't been trained to use weapons (like Arya), is a girl alone, terrified, the Lannister killed all his family
what the fuck she has done?
Sansa wrongs, make mistakes and trusts of those who should not and this is an idiot?
I'm sorry to disappoint you but everyone at that age was an idiot, I was in love with Leonardo Dicaprio as the girls today are of Justin Bieber. I've had experiences, I grew up and the only way I know that I do not need a man to feel complete.
I believe and I hope that Martin has plans more 'big for her, I want to see her grow up and become a woman with balls.
Sansa is the only Stark I'd like to see on the Iron Throne

Sansa and the Hound are probably the two most well developed characters in the show Sansa has gon from being a soft silly little girl into a strong smart woman. She has gone from believing she needs noble knights and princes to protect her, to realising she is better off alone. And I really want her to meet Sandor again

WhitePedal25 [2017-01-18 03:20:37 +0000 UTC]

I blame Catelyn for how she raised Sansa to be submissive and raising her to be this Lady with no choice with who she marries, Sansa was a noble lady being raised for marriage as custom and Catelyn's influence on Sansa, including how she treated Jon Snow, is what made Sansa that naive girl in the first season and blinded by the stories she was read.

At least now she has grown and will swear off marriage and changed her idea's on arrange marriages and how girls, including ones born to nobility, should be raised and their choice on marriage since she saw the damage of an unhappy arrange marriage made Cersei into the miserable woman she is, Lysa completely insane and how Ramsay hurt her. She will definitely encourage girls to be like Arya, she even says herself she hopes to someday have a daughter like Arya.

Sansa saves both Sir Dontos and Lancel Lanister : evryone hates her and think she is dumb and winy (even thougth she was only 11)
Arya gets the opurtunity to end the war by saying TywinΒ΄s name to Jaquen: evryones fvourite character

The only thing I hate about her is that she betrayed her father, that's the only thing. We are all stupid at that age, but betraying your father and betraying your sister and then pretty much forgetting about them... that's unforgivable. BTW great draw!

if you look closely you see, that daenerys and sansa are the same kind of person.
it's just the situation that makes the difference. there are strong people at daenerys' side who protect and support her. and sansa is all alone in a snakepit

i love sansa, too. and it's too hard for me to see her suffering in any way. i stopped with looking game of thrones and i only start looking again when someone tells me, sansa is killing her "husband" and finally become free. no matter if she'd use poison or a giant axe bigger then herself

I was annoyed by Sansa early on, but at no point did I outright hate her. I know a lot of people blame her for Cersei getting wind of Ned's plot, but after reading A Game of Thrones twice, I personally feel Sansa didn't tell Cersei anything that the queen hadn't already learned from Ned himself.

I donΒ΄t hate Sansa as a character.Β
But I was really annoyed how she kept fawning over "her brave prince" Joffrey AFTER he tortured Mycah in front of her eyes and acted like the little asshat he was.Β
But after she realized the truth, Sansa became a pretty realistic and understandable character.Β

I have a similar view about Sansa (even though she isn't my favorite character), maybe it's because in some ways I'm submissive in nature so I can understand what's going on, she probably believes that if she just keeps her head down and her mouth shut things might be able to blow over and an opportunity to get out of the mess might present itself so she is biding her time

But you are right, she is just a little girl, she makes mistakes and is alone.

She trusted the wrong people because of lack of experience…

But in the end, I think, she will be the best player in the game of thrones

Nice picture and great expression! Even if I can't actually picture as Sansa a girl that would like to use armors
I must admit I had a terrible first impression of her. It is not like I would have preferred her trained as a warrior, It is more realistic that way (Arya is an excepcion), but sometimes her thoughts were just to much self-centered. I mean come on your little sister was alone, in that crappy place full of rappists, barelly knowing how to use her sword, scaping from the royal guard and still found a little time to worry about you. On the other hand we see Sansa maybe a little beaten, scared but with food and ceiling, and still she left her sis as last of her worries.

From my point of view she is a Tully from head to toe. I think she is really strong but not the Stark way. I cant think of her back in the cold winterfell or in the unconfortable iron throne and I dont think she woud like that either.

I don't hate Sansa, I just thing she's ...useless. I also slightly blame her for Neds death since she went to the Queen and told her that Ned was trying to sneak the girls out. Also she didn't defend her sister. I get it. She's only a silly 13 year old girl, but it seems that even the youngest Stark has more loyalty to her family than she does. She pays for her foolishness....dearly, but when compared to Arya and Jon she seems useless.Β

I think she cares a lot about her sister but she also knows deep down that Arya is much better at defending herself in the world they find themselves in.Also asking about her sister could make the Lannisters try to use her sister to get her to do what they wants cause Sansa doesn't know if they have her sister or not. Personally i see a lot of teenage girls now adays in her, she has silly crushes, doesn't care much for her younger sister but she learns from her mistakes and has a very open point of view which will help her in the long run.

I find sooooooo stupid to see people saying things like "oooh jo jo, sansa is nothing but a preety barbie doll who does nothing but being stupid, not like cool characters like tyrion!" weeeeeeell.......... tyrion was in fact quite innocent and stupid when he was young, and because he learned from the mistakes he commited he is now the cool, keen and smart guy he is! so sansa can perfectly become as cool as that.

She's not my favorite (I'm honestly not sure if I really like her as a character) but she does have my utmost respect as a character.

I did hate her a little in the beginning. I guess it was easy for me, as a reader, to see what was coming ahead and call Sansa an idiot for not seeing certain things coming when it was blatantly happening (especially when other non-adult characters were smart enough to be wary, too). But I finally got it. It was exactly as you said. Sansa had no reason NOT to put trust in certain people. Also...she was in a position to be potentially married to the Prince of the Seven Kingdoms. Literally something straight out of her childhood dreams. Why would she do anything to jeopardize that?
She literally did what she was raised to do (be a courteous lady and hopefully marry some high-lord)....it kinda ended up a double-edged sword. It helped her cope with King's Landing after the fact, but it blinded her to the bad things going on to begin with. I do like that she's growing more as a character and getting stronger.

I personally don't think any other Stark would suit the Iron Throne because none of the other Starks want it. They never wanted the Throne. They just wanted their family and Winterfell.

I still love Arya, though. She's still one of my favorites. Not because she's a "tomboy" or whatever. She just does what she wants, and everyone else can deal with it. I like that. Like, Arya was never really "trained" with weapons (not until King's Landing, and Ned really did that to humor her and keep her busy). She had that same "lady's upbringing" as Sansa. She just didn't care for it and always went off to do her own thing.
Bad-Ass.

I don't hate Sansa, she's not my favorite character (I'm crossing finger so that Arya, Brandon, Tyrion and Danyeris don't get killed like so many other characters) but I do like her and I hope in the future she will continue to learn how to use wits and charisma. She showed some hint of it but then was put into the background as a scared girl again. And now that you mention it, yes she could make a good queen. I mean I like Arya more but she would most likely screw up if she had to deal with politics, she is likely to be a badass killer but not more and Brandon really doesn't seem to like the idea of reigning on anything. Still Sansa as a long way to go before she can rival with Danyeris charisma and instinct. But that doesn't mean it's impossible. Eck NOTHING is impossible in Game of thrones, I something think George R. R. Martin created a whole world only to have the pleasure of destroying it all.

Well, of all the remaining Starks, she's the only one who's gaining any sort of political education. And from one of the biggest masters of it no less.
Arya and Bran are slowly losing their identities and who the Hell knows what's up with Rickon (literally, no one knows anything about the kid).
Robb's downfall was that he couldn't play politics as well as he could wage a war. Sansa's learning how to move from a piece to a player.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Adipose620 [2013-06-01 07:14:05 +0000 UTC]

My brother in-law gives Sansa so much shit and it's fucking annoying. I have to remind him that she's just a young girl who was raised mostly by the influences of her mother and her septon. But then he always compares her to Arya, and I just want to scream because not everyone is cut from the same cloth. Arya is more like a Stark while Sansa is more of a Tully; she uses words and cold, empty courtesies rather than fighting with steel to survive (and even if she did try to fight back she'd be dead the same moment Ned lost his head). Both girls just had different interests that took them on different (yet very similar) paths.
And what I like about Sansa's character is that (like Dany) you can see how much she grows and changes perspective. Of course she's still naive and can be a bit dense, but that's just part of her character, and every character in this series has flaws. I didn't like her at first, but as she grows (and the more I rewatch the series and read through the books) I find a new sort of appreciation for her.

By the way, I love how Claymore-esque she looks in this.

Aryanna47 [2013-05-27 10:09:20 +0000 UTC]

I'm so glad that someone else understands the fact, that she is just what she was taught to be - lil' bit naive, true lady obeying males around, gentle, dreaming of princes and happy endings. At Winterfell, she really was surrounded by mostly "true knights", her father being the very meaning of those words. So how come everyone is so surprised that she thought the same about rest of the world? Yup, she lied, or spoke of secret things but.. which teenage girl didn't? Especially when it was all about a boy she likes, not to mention it would be her future husband?

I love her character (actually, way more than Arya... I don't really like Arya character that much... being an angry boyish child is not really an accomplishment ) and way how she is changing, understanding how to do this or that to avoid problems or to get herself something she wants. How she's getting stronger. And I really hope that G.R.R.Martin has something *more* prepared for her

P.S: And for her lies, she was punished by loosing Lady (and if she knew the direwolf would die, she wouldn't lie, even if it was Nymeria, I think). And then she did all she could to save Ned's life, persuading him to take the black, begging Jeoffrey and Cersei to let him, and so. It was her way, and not very useful, but all she thought she could do.

I don't really like Sansa, but I pity and sympathize with her a little. Unfortunately, she was trained to be a meal ticket, it's not her fault her father didn't have the wisdom to train both her and Arya to be warriors, and Ned himself wasn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen when it came to politics. Sansa, unfortunately, was instead taught to be nothing more than a pretty face.

Arya doesn't seem like the one who wants to be on the throne, she wants to rule herself and go back to Winterfell and be all badass and boyish. I hope that Arya teaches Sansa how to have balls. FOr me, Sansa is one of the Starks who have a high possibility of being a queen. She's proven herself, and she's a smart girl, despite being all naive and whiny. As a Northerner, her countenance belies how much of the North resides WITHIN her. I see her more as a queen militant, who leads and loves the smallfolk, and is very noble, the woman she wants to be.

still, even sit on the Iron Throne? she's less intelligent than her mother by now, and well, Catelyn wasn't surely a genious
anyway, I like the drawing. I can't actually picture the girl in armor as Sansa, but I like the expression you gave her, and I actually hope she's going to become smarter, and a woman with balls. I will even forgive her for mistreating Tyrion if she does xD

She's picking up on some of Littlefinger's tricks, so we can expect some fairly awesome things from her in the future books. George R. R. Martin is not the sort of author that'd waste some perfectly good character development such as that. The reason a lot of fans dislike her is because we all wore those rose-tinted glasses at some point, and only a few of us will admit it.
