Phew, another big landscape illustration. I'm going mad!

This is an artistic liberty piece for ! All that was requested was to use his character Pacer (the jackalope) with one of my characters. So I decided to have a bunny party! Featured is my sona Filly and good ol' Stan!

This piece was a massive experiment. Essentially I stretched it out over the last month, doing tiny pieces of the sketch during my Environments class either during breaks or when Critiques were going slowly. I used an abundance of references to make the environment feel authentic instead of just farting stuff out like I usually do, and it feels a lot stronger. I still made up a couple things (like the aspen-type trees in the front) but the overall place was based on reality. Nothing was copied or anything of course, just referenced. I'm definitely going to be doing it more as I've been putting it off far too long. It takes a lot of time researching, but it's time that's well spent.

For the coloring, I did it rough and dirty like my last piece but this time I actually restricted myself to a color palette. Another tricky thing for me, but the challenge was worth it.

In the end I ended up overworking it and it's probably a good 40-50% over the price I charged. So I suppose the lesson for me is... don't experiment too much or I'll continuously keep adding things and make myself cry. UnU,
