Or, "In Memory Of", which sounds slightly sillier as a title. Somehow, the theme of this piece shifted from meditation, to prayer, to that of memorial-- lighting a candle in broad daylight because there is something or someone that deserves to be remembered.

This piece has morphed so much from the original idea, it's a little mind-boggling! It was supposed to be my Thursday "experiment" piece, and the end of my "playing with horizontal places" stint. I ended up taking several of the more unsuccessful elements of my last pieces and tried one more time to make them work. Together. @__@ GRAGH. 30+ hours and three canvas expansions later , I ended up with something vastly more complex than what I had ever imagined. There are a wealth of discrepancies that I just couldn't fix by the end without gutting the whole thing, but they're definitely things I'll watch out for next time. Moral of the story: Plan more, eyeball less!

On a side note, this weirdly seems like an extension piece to the Raised City I drew for school admissions. WEIRD.
