Not only would I leave it as is but it warranted a "favorites" from me as is. As I went through your gallery I plucked three such favorites out and am impressed by all I have seen of your work. Good stuff.

no need to finish this one. everything, that is essential in this piece is here, donig something more could be too much and make that fade away. this is really great....

I think the fact that it is unfinished is what makes it so terrifyingly beautiful (is terrifyingly even a word? )

well that settles it - I'll leave it as-is then. I like it a lot too, but don't have the faintest idea on how to finish it... but since so many people think it looks good the way it is then I'll just leave it, since I like it this way. Sometimes I need a little encouragement from friends.
Thanks so much! (terrifyingly is a word in my book. just like ginormous and craptacular)

i hope you do finish it some day. i like this. My son took one look at the thumbnail and said that it looked like charcoal. Pretty good eye on that boy!

Anyway, i really like this drawing. It shows off your skills in blending and shading.

That's awesome that your son recognized it! He must be pretty smart.
Thanks for the kind words. Charcoal is fun when you're in the mood for it. I love the textures that can be created.
Thanks!

i think i need to get into charcoal a little. my son is way better at it than i am because he like to draw with it. i don't so much because i tend to be very messy and i would probably end up with charcoal all over my face, not realize it is there, and go out somewhere that way. (then wonder why people are staring).

my son is going to start an account here on DA. i will let you know who he is so you can take a look at his stuff. He is pretty good.

That sounds awesome! Please let me know what his name is when he sets up his account. I have found this website very helpful and encouraging, so hopefully he will too!

The BEST part about charcoal is that it's messy - you can cover a lot of ground very quickly. So if you ever want to get some crap out, pull back your hair, spread down some newspaper and go to town.
and THEN spread your fingers on your face away from your mouth, like whiskers, go out and if people stare, smile at them as big as you can. I'm from a place where people go to the grocery store with shit on their pants (farmland) so I don't understand when people think it's a big deal to be dirty. Plus, sometimes it can be fun to shake up their world a little. (just maybe don't take your son? he might get embarrassed).

You are so cool...i love to shake people up. That is an excellent idea about the charcoal...i am probably going to try that soon....get some stuff out.

...and about my son getting embarrassed??? It would never happen!
