Tale of the Chosen Seventh

Race: Solscian [Legendary. Unique Trait: Blessing of Sol. Can command holy light to heal or harm.]
Orphaned at a young age, this Solscian found themselves taken in by a noble family of six elder sisters who mercilessly tormented her, envying her earnest kindness, ethereal grace, and gift of divine healing. Isolated and timid from a young age, it took the genuine love for a wounded dove - and its subsequent murder by her sisters - to show her the true cruelty of the world.

When a beautiful prince of the Solscian came from a neighboring kingdom to win a bride's favor, the six elder sisters did everything to keep their youngest from being chosen, even locking her in a closet - to no avail, as the prince, exhausted from his conversations with the sisters, had opened it to catch a break and discovered her, offering to save her from her miserable state and spirit her away.

On the eve of their wedding, the maiden was radiant and shining in a veil of ethereal wings, lace and jewels, and gilded sun-like halos. Many attending believed her a chosen one of the sun-deity.
But when she discovered that her sisters, all in attendance, had mysteriously been blinded as if by sharp talons - she was mortified, and her tears stained her feathers and gown in dark voids of pain and grief.

Until she would discover the source of the wounds...

Resolution of the Tale of the Chosen Seventh

As the clock struck midnight upon the final eve of Voidsong, and the dark clutches of the beyond would slowly give way to the changing seasons, the Narrator would have one final tale to conclude...

The Dove who heralded the arrival of the daimon of elder tales would see the ending to their tale told, at any cost...

Wracked by grief, confusion, and pain, the Princess - now wreathed in wings and light of her true form - would flee from the Prince's side and return to the place she once called home.

There she would find upon her mantle a gift, left behind by a mysterious benefactor.

An ornate jewelry box rested there, holding inside the plucked eyes of her vain sisters - and a single feather of a dove.

In all other tellings of the tale, the Princess would perish of a broken heart, like a bird shaken by emotions too great to handle. But this time, the Dove would have an offer - that if the sisters could appreciate the Princess for who she was, and learn to relinquish their envy and spite - that perhaps the eyes could be returned.

And this time, when the Prince arrived desperately calling her name - he would find not a corpse, but the Princess, jewelry box in hand and Dove resting upon her shoulder, ready to deliver that final decree - and give a chance to those who wronged her for so very long...
