Her undergarments are very pretty! Did she design them herself?
Also now that I have more info on your setting, that's fascinating! Very interesting that society kind of retraced it's steps, all the way back to the 1950s. Was all the information about how life used to be lost? So now they just happen to be doing the same stuff? Or is it more of a "we have information about what life used to be like so we're going to mimic it" it's just a very interesting world building piece.

The setting of her story is something I would never see it coming, wow! But it's an incredible idea!
Mae is such a hardworking person, she totally deserves a little break (though im not sure she would appreciate it herself, being a workaholic and all xD)
(also i saw that pun, even if not intended, calling her a "busy bee" lol yellow sure fits her appearance and personality very much )

Mae is a really intriguing character in an interesting setting. I especially like the idea of her rather personal struggle, caring for her siblings and grandmother and the decision between fashion and flowers, in an utterly other-worldly setting. I do wonder how the sci-fi setting will influence her approach to solving her personal problems or if they will get overshadowed by a much bigger problem.

Thank you They didn't take the same rout or time in each era to get to where they are now though (for the sake of being brief) my description does make it seem that way (I should probably figure out a better summery eventually) The history of this 1950's is very different from our own and each country developed and changed at a different pace. After the whole apocalypse thing blew over, I'd say most of humanity found itself stuck in a colonial/Renaissance steampunk type era for a while until the aliens were able to get a bit of peace and fix up the intergalactic portal (it was damaged in the initial crash) which sent the world into a revolutionary 1950ish age and it's been sort of stuck in this 1950ish age for quite some time. Technology is more advanced in some ways and less advanced in others (I don't think they've really figured out the internet yet) and different countries and planets are advanced in different ways ("Russia's" genetic engineering vs "America's" alien robotics engineering) and aren't often inclined to share. There will be aliens featured in Mae's future tasks I'm pretty sure Peter (a 14 year old alien boy who works for Mae's neighbor Lee Anderson) will probably appear in her favorite food task and Timothy Tsuji (a half alien police officer with mysterious origins) will be in her fear and anger tasks. She's friendly towards most everyone but she's not particularly friends with any aliens as of yet.

Yeah, the story is supposed to have a lighthearted and possibly comedic raypunk and atompunk feel to, it if that helps describe the tech. I think xenophobia towards aliens is definitely an issue in many countries but, while still present, New Opulence is alien central so the prejudiced and segregation is less of an issue there.

Thank you! Resilient is definitely a good word for her . It will be interesting to see how the two societies intersect for me as well 'cause I'm not quite sure how I'm gonna make everything works yet (It's a work in progress).

Mae is just so busy, the poor thing! But I'm proud of the hardworkers, she only deserves the best!
You should have seen my face when I read the setting summary...
"She is also pretty good with money and book keeping." Can't relate.

So classy! I like the design of her underwear and how you drew her expressions.
New Opulence City also sounds like a very interesting place!

Moderately different, particularly in terms of technology and politics but most else is the same.

I love her undergarments! Looks cozy and stylish (also love that in the overworked expression one of the flowers is drooping too XD)
I think it's pretty cool she could find a way to do what she wants while also taking up what her parents did. Is she human or one of the aliens?
