Strength: She is strong in her convictions and sticks to them no matter what. She is also pretty good with money and book keeping.

1 Sentence Summary: Mae O’Brian is co-owner of a flower and fashion shop.

Story Summary: Mae O’Brian co-owns Daisy Mae Flowers and Fashions with her grandmother Daisy Mae O’Brian who is pretty ancient and senile so Mae does most of the work. It was originally just a flower shop but Mae’s goal was always to be a designer/tailor so she started adding fashions to it when her parents died 3 years ago and she had to take over running things. Flowers remain the main income of the shop and the fashions are sort of a side project when she has time to spare. With the death of her parents, Mae was also made guardian of her 2 younger siblings and caretaker of her grandmother who all cause her a good deal of worry and stress.

Personality Summary: Mae is a busy bee who’s always trying to do everything. Despite running the shop and taking care of her grandmother and little sister, she still tries to find time to volunteer at church and community functions. She has a good heart and tries to be neighborly to all. She worries a lot and has a lot to worry about. She is, at her core, a lady and she lives and acts according to the standards of polite society making her polite to a fault and very conscience of her appearances. Family is very important to her. While she likes flowers all well and good, she’d much rather be a designer and the only reason she hasn’t fully converted the shop into a fashion studio is because of the sentimentality her family has attached to it. All of this leaves her feeling stuck and divided.

Setting Summary: Mae O’Brian lives in New Opulence City on the waterfront in a futuristic 1950’s inspired setting. To be brief, about 200 years in the future aliens crashed on earth causing an apocalypse that set mankind back about 2000 year. 1955 years later (pa or post apocalypse) we are back in the 1950’s except there are aliens and lots of other key political/social differences that I’m not going to go into right now. New Opulence City is the center of intergalactic travel and trade as well as intercontinental transportation so it’s a highly trafficked and important city.
