Description
For Halloween 2010 I was Ambassador Delenn, from the 90's Sci-fi show Babylon 5 (check it out!). I draped both the under and over-robe on a dress form, creating a muslin first, then taking it to the final fabric. The darker purple under-robe has princess seams, connecting with the skirt at the waist. The gold brocade over-robe has side and back seams, and the back darts release their fullness under the waistline. Rather than directly copying any particular outfit of Delenn's, I chose instead to imitate the style lines, jewel tones, and typical alternation of color and texture (For example, her over robe is usually more heavily textured than the under one, and the belt matches the contrast collar of the under-robe).
These are post-Halloween pictures, so it's a little wrinkly!
