NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. The challenge is to write 50,000 words in 30 days, which is the equivalent (or at least the start) of a novel. You're not supposed to edit, it doesn't have to be perfect, all that matters is the word count...and that it's a story (you can't just write the same thing over and over again!) |D;

If you have 50,000 words by the end of the month you can submit a scrambled copy to them and they'll declare you a NaNoWriMo winner! 'They' would be the nonprofit organization that hosts this every Novemeber, by the way. (nanowrimo.org)

I've been following people who have done this before and I decided that this year I would do it too! I was going to be out of school and just working (just! *rolls eyes* If only!) so I thought I could do it. Now this turned out to be one of my busiest months of the year! |D; Oh well, I've decided to modify my goal to 30,000 words. That is still a good start to a novel, no?

I bet you would be good at this with your massive awesome chapters (though I suppose I don't know how long those took you to write).

Make sense? It's not really a competition; more of a challenge you do along with a bunch of other people. Though I suppose a little competition between each other might help us with our word counts!

Oh... I see. Huh. Well, that would be a challenge. I think I could probably do that since I have written over 25,000 words in two weeks fo DoaS before. It would be sure a fun thing to do, so i understand why you and others like it so much. But, I think I'll stick to my stories! heh! I have enough work with them. And I think you all would appriciate more that update my stories, anyways!

Well I've seen people do NaNoWriMo for fanfics as well. Nowhere does it say you have to do original work! (at least as far as I know)
