I saw many artists making paintings and drawings of that beautiful picture of ST:TMP Spock as a tribute to Leonard.I had to try myself ^^
The low angle position was very difficult to draw. Hopefully I had this great reference ^^
There was only a tiny glimpse of the extremity of his fingers on the photograph, but I chose to draw his hand completely, because I love so much Leonard's hands <3 (Well in fact, he always has my own hands in my drawings
that's the most handy ref XD)I feel blessed with this ability to draw my beloved Spock/Nimoy with such likeness~ I definitively love him here humm~
Spock always reminds me of a Space Elf XD

"Space elf." That is EXACTLY what Vulcans are! That's perfect!
And wow, this is really beautiful--it's an elegant pose and his face looks so thoughtful, like he's somehow very alert yet very introspective all at once.

Yes, I read LOTR in French about ten years ago, but forgot most of it. I recently bought the books second-hand in the English version, and I've already read the first book. Today, I was quite lucky and bought the three DVDs for a few euros in a flee market~ I believe I'll wait until I'll have finished reading the books btfore watching the moves though ^^

It's so funny that you mention Space Elf, because it reminds me of a friend whom I introduced to Star Trek a few years ago. Her first comment on Spock was: 'That guy's very attractive. He looks like an Elf'.

The pointed ears are indeed not the only feature that make him appear like an Elf. It's actually the elegance and gracefulness that make the difference.

Well I never colour other people's work though. I sketch first and then I colour ^^ But I never find it tedious to colour, especially with the coloured pencils, which are my fav. And what I prefer over all is adding the shadows XD I love that it gives volume to the subject XD

I don't think I have ever coloured someone else's work before, too. But there are occasions in which I think I'd do it.
But I still prefer sketching. ;D It's my fav part of drawing.Β
