I wanted since a long time to make a drawing from this old behind-the-scene black-and-white photograph (most probably taken during the shooting of The Wrath of Khan, considering the white collar and black tunic <3)So, some more smiling Leonard / Spock AND black vulcan tunic <3
I was wondering whether I'll be able to finish that drawing: my little boy was CONSTANTLY pestering me during the whole affair, unrelentingly asking questions, jumping on the sofa, humming, etc. Grrrrr...
But I'm finally really happy with the result. Notably the colouring, since the reference was a black-and-white photograph.

The reference I used here is a behind-the-scene photograph - from The Wrath of Kahn I believe - in which most certainly Leonard Nimoy had some fun, in full Spock regalia XD

Brillent! I love the clothes and the pose, wiping the eyes with mirth. You did the expression beautifully! Especially the mouth. And that ear is awesome! I wish I could draw hands as well as that! D

For the pose, Leonard did all by himself XD
And for the clothes, well he did sport the black vulcan tunic on that photograph but it was totally hidden in shadows, so that I had to "reinvent" it all ^^
I must say that I'm quite proud of that one <3 <3 And I love the idea that he looks his age ^^
And the colours are really good. It's interesting to "invent" colours when one uses a black-and-white photograph as reference.
I'll read Chapter 10 of Distress Call soon. I've not finished Order 66... yet ! Not enough time O_O And kids were at home today... (Easter Monday is a non-working day in France).

Each of us has is own special drawing style <3 Well, mine is quite realistic, but it is because it's the way I like it. So maybe it motivated me to work and work again ^^
I myself am very ill-at-ease with manga and anime styles. Because is it far from being realistic, I mean the proportions of face features are very specific (and quite different from "real life"), and it's so unnatural to me, that it demands really great blind efforts to try to copy manga style. I mean "blind" because I copy without understanding, without analysing. Blindly, like another alien language.
Your style is really cute and funny! I do not manage to do funny fluffy things! I'm too rigid-minded <3

Probably, if you draw often, bit by bit you'll manage more realism ^^ ANd their are many good tutorial on the internet (I used some in the past for eyes, lips, hair, ...)

I've read somewhere:

That's why I had less difficulties in my head concieving Spirk in the Reboot universe (since Zach is gay and Chris likes having fun with that bromance stuff with his pal Zach), so that, well, it came more natural. It took more time in my head for TOS Spirk. I had first to really separate actors from characters in my head.
Well. Might not have been easier if he had been straight ^^
