....Okies, I'm gonna admit I was suuuuuuper lazy on this picture, but I'm sure it's obvious. I just wanted to doodle some stuff and throw in some of my head cannon things in there too.First, I just wanted to practice drawing some poses, and then I read Batman #28 and thought how neat it is that Harper Row is joining the family, and then I thought...man...Cullen Row is gonna be in a harem of sexy bat boys, so I just tossed him in my doodle too.
Anyways, I know that Cullen seems to prefer Tim, but I also read he'll take any of them if he can haha. Anyways...bat boy harem. I just thought it sounded like one of those anime premises, where one girl gets courted by a bunch of guys (Ouran high school host club, fruits basket). Sounded funny.
No Damian though. Damian is too young...plus, you know, he's dead...and he'll probably kill Cullen anyways.
If you don't wanna think of it as a harem...then Cullen is just admiring their acrobatics.
I know picture sucks...I really didn't plan it out and it was suppose to be only practice, but I just wanted to share my ideas.

In Batman and Robin Eternal he meets all three, and Damian, and Midnighter. It's funny because when he and Harper meet back up he's all "Boy do I have a story to tell! I was running a super-computer and there were ninjas and a scary, gay Batman and it was awesome!" and I was just like "Aww, you little sweetie. You have no idea how close to death you were do you? You're so cute," It was a nice moment for him to shine even if just ever so slightly because the Bat-Fam really did need him on this one.

Maybe Cullen prefers Tim because he has not yet gazed upon the majesty that is Dick Grayson's Ass.

Ultimate combo would be: Dick's ass, Tim's personality & Jason's bad boy image. BAM. Instant K.O.

Haha, that's my head cannon.
Cullen likes Timmy at first, but Timmy might ignore Cullen because Timmy might be too busy and forget to socialize once in awhile.
Then Cullen runs into Jason and likes his bad attitude, but in the end finds Jason too complicated,
then Cullen runs into Dick and is hypnotized by Dick's butt, but Damian gets in the way and threatens to kill Cullen.
Best would be all three of course.....if he can get over the little bumps in the road hahaha.

But yeah, Tim has/had the Teen Titans to worry about so he'd be distant... plus Kon would be like: "No. Mine."
I haven't read any comics on how well little D gets along with Jason though.
I can kinda of imagine them as being part of the same stock (instinct to be ultra violent)
so that might be a challenge for the better adjusted Cullen.
NEW Batboy possibility: Terry McGuiness.
Bad boy to start, cool and collected personality (unless he gets in a fight), quippy with the comments like Dick
and although his ass has even really been graded, he has sexy lips... that should be a good motivator. lol

I hardly ever draw superheroes and I've been pretty hard core into DC for the last 2 years.
Most of my watchers are anime fans so a side from like 1 person, no one really knows Nightwing.
I wouldn't mind a fan telling me what they think. I'd appreciate it. *gives you llama as thanks*

Damian and Jason actually get along pretty well. Not as well as Damian and Dick, but Jason and little D have a mutual respect for each other. They believe in using any means to obtain justice, they both have some kind of relationship with Talia and the League of Assassins, and they both really hate Tim Drake and tried to kill him. I think in one Red Hood and the Outlaws comic they showed what kind of relationship Jason and Damian had, although I think Jason is still a bit pissed at Damian for tricking him once, beating him up, and taking his red hood as a trophy.
Jason is really complicated though. He's very loving and caring actually, but he's so afraid of being happy for some reason and chooses to distant himself from everyone, hence why he is complicated.
Haha, Terry is way off limits compared to the rest of them. Terry has only eyes for Dana and always will. Terry actually marries Dana in the future. I think Cullen can even tell when a man his heart set in stone already.
Oh, what a neat drawing! However, to appeal to a wider audience you might want to draw the blue version of Nightwing instead of red. While I do like the red version because I really enjoyed stories where he wears red, people don't always catch up on recent comics and are more likely to familiar with Nightwing's blue version instead. Since most anime audiences don't read the comics, they are more likely to only know Nightwing from the old Batman The Animated series, the Teen Titans cartoon, and Young Justice cartoon, where he has been blue. Even many comic audiences don't read up on the more recent comics and just read the old ones where he is wearing his blue costume. Sometimes it takes 10 years for the rest of the world to really catch on, hahahaha. Anyways, I'm not saying blue is better than red, but it's just way more popular and would sell better.
I like your art. We should be friends. You can always talk about comic books to me. That way you'll have another buddy that actually knows comic books.

I started collecting the Grant Morrison paperbacks where Dick is Batman with Damian as his Robin.
I can't wait for everything to really come together. And if you're wondering, I know what the final outcome is so I don't mind spoilers. lol
Also, have you seen the "Batman vs Robin" movie and seen what they did- or DIDN'T do with Nightwing?
Also, once again, Dick being reduced to babysitter & the antagonistic relationship that SHOULD be a Tim & Damian thing. -_-

I'm always seeing fan art of Dick where he wants hugs. And I get it, Dick is the only one in the batfam with could WANT hugs
but I want to know if it comes from something I'm not aware of yet. Like a part in a story where he wants hugs but is denied or something. lol
You make a good point! I can easily adjust the colors in this since I didn't make the emblem too complicated and I'd have 2 versions.
Although there is no "neck rings" and there is no "point" for the V on his emblem in blue normally hmm...

Totally watching you/be friends! Since I started reading Batman & Robin & New 52 Nightwing/Grayson... I've become an obsessed Robin fan girl.
I need to vent these feelings. lol And since I only started a few years ago i know I have a lot to catch up on. It's not that easy getting up to date with DC.

I stopped watching the DC animated movies after the Son of Batman Movie. I was getting very disappointed at the quality of the animation and how they changed the story from the comics that I decided I didn't want to support that specific team of DC animators anymore. I will still watch the other DC animated things though like Gods and Monsters and I rather just spend my money on the comics that those movies adapted from.
Sooooooooooo anyways, I didn't watch Batman vs Robin since it was made after Son of Batman. From the sounds of it, it doesn't seem that good. And yes, Tim and Damian should be the enemies. Damian hates Tim the most because Damian wants to be Robin.
Oh, Dick and hugs, haha. Hrmmmm, this is just going to be my assumption based on what comics I read and what I think happened. Dick actually does not hug thaaaaat much. Not like all the time like people think anyways. I think it's because how the internet works and how people tend to get their information. Basically, what you have to do to convince someone that "something is a thing" or a trend is find a couple of pictures from a variety of sources and then say it's a thing. So what happened is someone sifted through all the comics that occurred over 70 years (which is about how long Batman comics has been running) put it all on one page and then say it's a "thing." The thing blows up, and fans that like to draw fanart, make up stories, and make head-canons start to produce things that helps make the trend seem bigger than it is. It spreads and catches on, and then may even appear in the actual original source. So in this case, it is "Dick Hugs." So think of it as....if I found five pictures of Dick hugging from 70 years of comics, and put it all on one webpage, it would look like Dick really likes hugs because it's all on one webpage haha. Fans really eat that stuff up so they support the idea. I'm not sure if there is a certain point in comics where I can pinpoint it. Hrm, if I had to really pinpoint a certain time though, it probably would be from Devin Grayson's era of writing comics for DC.
Anyways, that's my guess. I also assume that the influx of once anime fans transitioning into comics also tend to apply a lot of anime tropes into comics as well.
But Dick IS a friendly guy, so I guess as long as it's not implausible, it's possible.

I read up to where Harper was attempting to comfort Batman shortly after damian's death I think in Batman and Robin.. Yeah it's been awhile. I love how diverse DC with their characters. I hope Bruce takes them in. They're such great characters with a whole bunch of potential.

I also never said I didn't like the reboot. I love the story lines but out of all the other characters why is it always Batman that gets the incredibly rough end of the deal. He's dark and gritty and can deal with a lot that gets thrown at him, but why can't they just leave him and the "bat family" alone now? Ever hear of over kill?

I'm not looking for a fight with why Jason died or why Damian died. Though I think it's the opposite. Jason had no reason to die while Damian did. Death in the Family was kinda a racist comic....I don't think people really understood it or why it happened, whereas I found Batman Inc. to be a deep complex story.

I love the reboot. I truly do but sometimes it just gives me whip lash. I read the comics and if for some reason I can't I look up as much and try and read bits of what I can find. I listen to what others say and both sides of the story and both views and go from there. I was a huge Damian fan before the reboot so it just really sucked to see him die and by his own mother (indirectly of course because she just couldn't kill her own son herself so she had his clone do it) was just like a thorn in my side. I love how they're throwing bits of older story references like Carrie Kelly was in there for a bit. But no I've been following batman since I was a child and it stared with the animated series and then on to the comic. Lol it just sucks because I'm strapped for cash and when I do get it I cant go spend it on comics. Lol

Yes, that is how Damian died, but not the full picture. It's kinda like an old tragedy story, resembling Greek heroes or Norse Gods. It was an interesting take on Batman. Although Grant Morrison is hard to understand sometimes because dialogue can be confusing.

Yeah. I get it. The New 52 is good, but for the batman "purist" it's hard for them to swallow. I'm on the fence about it. i enjoy it, but at the same time it can at times make me want to pull my hair out. I do like though how they're throwing tribute to other characters. It's a complicated and complex reboot in terms of the stories. They're giving their hero's bigger dynamics and just making them so much bigger than what was though possible. Ugh I need money to buy new ones I'm going through withdrawal lol
