I think more people would be more open to these quote if you did something more artistic with them. Why not use a photo of yours or take one for the background? Or play around more with fonts and the many effects text options have. You can get a more artistic look to these if you try something like that.

It's still not very artistic. And this is an art site. Doing something more than a white quote from someone famous they stumbled across on a black background would be nice. Not to mention I've seen plenty of quote stickers that actually had a whole lot more to them than this.

Things are different to different people, and maybe some like the format for the simplicity rather than the details.
