Description Ok, so here is my second go at drawing people and scenes.
This is an ilustration to my old fanfiction text, so it may need some explanation. Maedhros and Fingon were swimming in river, and that's why he doesn't have clothes on, and his hair is not "in plaits braided with gold" They came out because they thought that someone was looking at them. Then they started talking about future, that Maedhros doesn't want to get married because he thinks they will need to leave Aman.
Anyway, so here is Fingon, thinking about the future, and judging if he will remain faithful to his friend, and follow him to the Middle-earth.

I was working on this picture for over a year, and the face is drawn maybe two days ago (his previous face was terrifying).
And I would like to thank ~Sirielle and ~Kaaile for all their suggestions, and above all for their patience.

I really like your pencil drawings! They're great! I love the foliage and the trees in this picture, the plants look so prehistorical and Jurassic even. (Heheh, funny idea, elves and dinosaurs! ) Fingon's muscles and arms are also really great in this, very well drawn and proportional. I suppose really my only critique/criticism would be his neck and his face. If you look at the drawing in the mirror you could probably find most of the difficulties. Let's see, I think the main things is that eyes (the only behind his nose) looks much too close. His nose also looks rather flat, and his ears are small (even if they are covered by hair). The ears should be roughly the length of the nose, but the top reaching where the eyebrows are. His hair also looks a little flat. Besides that, there's really little to critcize. I like the drawing. But I know what it means to work on something for what seems like forever and still have problems with it!

Not to be nitpicky, but ought it not be "What lies in the East?"

Ok, I may try to correct his ear and hair later on, but now I need a break from this picture the face stays as it is - I don't feel confident enough to rub it out again.

"Lies", true This is the most confusing ever verb in the English language XD

That's why I said I understand. There are some pictures that I have where I know exactly what is wrong with them, but I either a.) don't want to fix it or b.) I'm so sick of looking at it that I don't want to touch it or c.) it might get ruined if I try and fix it.

English is a ridiculously stupid language. Besides, I think that verb will be going out the door eventually as people continue to confuse the two. I mean, it's REALLY very difficult to tell whether the situation calls for a "lay" or "lie"

Yeah, English is a confusing language, especially if you learn it as your second language, and try to remember that you don't read as you write words. But, by comparison, Polish can be equally stupid, especially with gramatical cases (you know, when you have different forms of a noun).

I honestly don't think so I wrote it in Polish, only two or three first chapters were published loooong ago on a Tolkien fans discussion forum, then I was writing it and not showing it to anyone And the scene connected to this picture is not even typed in Yeah, all my stories are hand written first, and then I'm too lazy to type in most of them.
