This is so cool -- I love your style, I was initially drawn to it because of the sort of dream like tone it had to it. The lighting is well done, and I like how it's a little unfocused so that the girl looks like she's in the dark, being lit by the flame in her hand! The shading and blending is well executed. The only thing that I would maybe suggest is looking at is the face - it may be part of your style, but if you look at the original photo, her face is a bit different in that her nose is not quite so small and her mouth is slightly different. Ultimately, you made a unique piece, but there are a couple of changes that you could consider if you're going for a more realistic style. However, based on your other art, I think it's really more of an accurate portrayal of your style and art, rather that attempting to be hyper-realistic. Sorry if that came across weird - all im saying is that your style is really unique, but if you want your pieces to look exact in regards to a photo, theres a couple alterations that could be considered. But I really love your style, and I like how you put your own twist on her photo !!

Wonderful job! And a fun coincidence haha She does look like Triss, though the outfit is more traditional looking, which in my opinion only add to the piece

Hello! I'm here from
So first off, let me just tell you great job! You truly picked a great looking model and made great use of her picture to create the portrait. At first glance the posture, expression and lighting actually make a pretty great job in creating a really solid piece. But I think you can improve your piece further and create a truly outstanding piece. So first off anatomy-wise, you were actually pretty spot on! There are maybe a couple of proportional hiccups, like the upper and lower parts of the torso, seem to be angled in different directions, it's not necessarily bad, but it gives the pose a much more stiff look, I think you can improve on this by working just a bit more on the body construction, try picturing the curve of the spinal column and picturing the rib cage and hips accordingly. I also noticed you made her buns a bit larger and angled her head a bit lower, and changed her attire a bit, but I think it actually works in favor of your composition. My only note is that her left arm actually looks a bit shorter because of the way you drew the sleeve, once again this can be fixed through prior construction and drawing the cloth wrapping and folding around the anatomy. Finally, you can truly give this an exceptional look by working more with the fireball, don't get me wrong it looks great, but you have to consider it as a main light source in your composition, so everything close to the flame should be brighter and everything away should be darker, not to mention that elements like the arm and hair should create hard shadows. Also as side note I think that if you define your characters tones with a few highlights and hard shadows it will give your shading a much more defined an uniform look.
All in all I hope this helps and keep up the great work!

You're very welcome!
Well... yes! Hard shadows are the ones with sharp edges, because they're the shadows cast by the objects or elements closest to your light source
Ok so your hard shadows and highlights should be treated as your contour lines. In general where to put them goes back to the concept of light sources.
For example imagine you have a ball on your table if you shine a light at it at an angle you should have a clearly defined shadow ( a hard shadow). Now in compositions like yours you gotta imagine what hard shadows your light source would create, in your case you should be able to see the defined shadows of her hair on her face as well as shadows created by some elements of her clothes like her sleeves on her arms and her shirt on her chest. Not to mention that elements like the nose, the brow and the eye sockets on the face will always cast shadows depending on the angle of the light source. Also remember that the main wrinkles of your characters clothes will cast the main shadows.
I know that reading it like this without a visual aid is kind of hard, but I always recommend having a reference pic of a light source similar to what you're looking for to have a starting point on how the light casts shadows on your character.
For example a light source similar to the one you're using would create hard shadows and highlights similar to this. w-dog.net/wallpaper/art-lara-c…
But if I where to give you a hunch. When you're drawing you're base sketch or lines, always keep these. Honestly when I'm done with the coloring I repaint the lines I need in brighter or darker colors and use those as the base of my hard highlights and shadows.
I hope this helps! Good luck!
