Description So whodunnit? Professor Ratigan in the Study with the rope!

Haha, this was so much fun to make. I was gonna wait till closer to Halloween to upload it, but I couldn't wait

So here's my GMD Halloween picture of the characters from the movie dressed up as suspects from the board game "Clue." If you're not familiar with the game, basically the object is to figure out who killed the victim, where they did it, and what weapon they used. For instance, you would say "Miss Scarlet in the Study with the candlestick" or something like that.

So here we have Miss Kitty as Miss Scarlet, with a knife. Next is Dawson as Professor Plum with the gun. I debated whether or not I should make Ratigan be Prof. Plum, but I thought Dawson looked better in purple Next is Basil as Mr. Green, of course examining the blood on the lead pipe. I used his outfit shown on the cover of a couple of DVD and VHS releases. Next is Olivia as Miss Peacock, and Flaversham as Col. Mustard. I didn't give Olivia a weapon, cuz who gives a child a weapon?! And also cuz I ran out of weapons for everyone. Flaversham has the wrench, cuz I figured since he's a toymaker he'd have tools like a wrench. Next is Mrs. Judson as Mrs. White with the candlestick, to give a little light to the situation And finally, looming in the background, we have Ratigan as himself with the rope.

I'm very very pleased with how this turned out. Though I still cannot draw Dawson right to save my life! And Ratigan could have used a little more work, but he's hard for me too. First time I've ever done Flaversham or Mrs. Judson though, and I'm happy with them It's definitely the most characters I've ever put in one picture before!

Haha "Murder in Baker Street" would make a great title for a fic yeah? Oh CRAP!!! I just realized I spelled "murder" wrong...

Happy Halloween!!!

Haha that sounds funny When me and my cousins would play, we pretended they were Scooby Doo characters solving a mystery... like Daphne was the purple one, Freddy was blue, Velma was orange, Shaggy was green, and Scooby was red I think

Aw, thanks so much! This one was a blast to make! I'd never drawn Mrs. Judson or Flaversham before, so that was interesting. Had to reference some movie poses for them

ok and you're welcome
I really don't see Basil every commenting a murder though, or anyone else aside from Ratigan so if this idea were ever to be made into a game the story of the game would have to be changed to something like, who can get all the correct evidence and solve the case first, or something like that ^^'

Yeah, me either. Maybe they all just helped him to gather up the clues But that sounds like a good idea, seeing who can solve the mystery first!

firehedgefairy13 In reply to ALS123 [2011-11-13 05:32:33 +0000 UTC]

Hmm.. maybe some rich mouse that had refused to help Ratigan with one of his evil schemes and Ratigan was unable to capture TRM (standing for the rich mouse so we don't confuse all the hes) like he did Flaversham because TRM had better protect up until being killed?

I know me too! She seems kinda sweet and innocent at first...then she "takes off all her blues" And when she puts her foot on that guy trying to climb up on stage with her and shoves him backward is priceless! I even love all the minor characters, like "Bill" the lizard. When Ratigan's henchmen are going "Oh no, you're a mouse. Yeah, yeah, a mouse!" and Bill's like "Yeah, a big mouse!"

Heeee heee. How long did it take you to finally to finish up moving the characters around and elongating them? The amount of patience you have is amazing. Didn't you spend like two hours at Nana's trying to make the character's bigger and move them around? Looks like you figured it out. :,D

ALS123 In reply to Wesserdoo [2011-10-11 18:46:19 +0000 UTC]

Hey, do you remember playing Clue at Nana's, but we'd make them the Scooby Doo characters instead? Like Daphne was the purple one, Shaggy was red or green, Scooby was white, etc etc etc...??

ALS123 In reply to Wesserdoo [2011-10-11 18:29:44 +0000 UTC]

Bwahahaha yeah FINALLY!!! I spent like maybe 2 or 3 hours on it yesterday I think? And a couple more on Saturday. I had to finish fixing Flaversham and Olivia, and then had to actually draw Mrs. Judson and Ratigan since I hadn't even started on them yet. And you know what...I actually ended up scrapping that one I had had done at Nana's and started over! Well, not completely over...I did one character at a time, so I still had them saved on my computer, but I ended up trying to rearrange them on another one, cuz I ran out of room and didn't have anywhere to put Mrs. Judson, so I had to move them all closer together to make room for her. Eh, sorry if that doesn't make sense...I'm terrible at trying to explain my methods...they're just to crazy to explain!

Haha I think doing crazy complicated pics like this is definitely helping to work on my patience But I do think my patience wore out in the end, since I just made Ratigan completely black because I was too lazy to add the details And then I was so anxious to put it up that I MISSPELLED "Murder"!!!

lol Thanks for the comment...sorry my reply was so long...I'm feeling talkative today

I didn't give Olivia a weapon, cuz who gives a child a weapon?!

That line totally cracked me up! Maybe she could keep something harmless like a bag of marbles in her pocket to use as a means to trip someone. Not kill them, just to slow them down. Anyway, this is so fantastic! I grew up playing this game with my family and my mom, who played it before us, kicked our butts big time. We also love the movie version from the eighties that's now become a cult classic.

You've got each weapon fitting perfectly with each suspect and each Clue character fitting with each GMD character. Very nice to see that Basil was chosen as Mr. Green due the movie version of him when-- oh, I'd better not say here in case someone hadn't seen the movie. But I'm glad that's who he is. As for Ratigan, he can be known as Mr. Boddy!

Do you know how freaking awesome this would be if Disney made a board game like this? Clue has been done so many times over with various characters, this would be so perfect! They'd probably want to make Ratigan one of the suspects, but I'm not sure who since Mr. Boddy is already dead in the game. There's a newer game we bought after the original called Clue: Master Detective with more suspects, more weapons and more rooms. It's just as fun and much like the first game only it's more of challenge because of the addition of things.

ALS123 In reply to Brinatello [2011-10-11 18:44:20 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha That's funny cuz I rarely make people laugh! I contemplated giving her one anyway and having her looking at us like "What...???" But I ended up doing this instead

Thank you so very much! I loved playing this game too growing up with my brother and cousins. We didn't always stick by the rules though. Most of the time we'd make up our own little mystery and we'd each be a character. And we actually liked to pretend they were Scooby Doo characters! Like the purple piece was Daphne, the orange one Velma, etc.

Heh heh thanks. It took me forever to figure out who was gonna have each weapon I've never seen the movie version, and I kept seeing it pop up when I was looking up online at what the characters looked like. I'll definitely have to check it out!

Oh my goodness, that would be so freakin amazing if Disney made a GMD version of Clue! I would buy that in a heartbeat! My brother Nathan actually has a Disney version called "Haunted Mansion," like the ride, but the characters are Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Pluto. If I remember right, I think the object of the game was to try to be the first to escape the mansion. And the question you asked was "Which guest is being haunted, which ghost is doing the haunting and what room are they haunting in?" So instead of suspects, weapons, and room cards, you have guest, ghost, and room cards. It was really fun too. I remember playing it for hours when we were snowed in with no power a few years ago
