Description Edit: Wasn't all that satisfied with this, so I painted over it /end edit

I'M HOME! I haven't drawn in 2½ weeks or slept for to days, going on three. Seriosly, I got no sleep between Friday and Saturday, and I closed my eyes for 4 hours between Saturday and Sunday, but didn't sleep much if at all. Not actually sure. Don't think so. Also my first day of work is tomorrow, so wish me luck! (Then again, it's partly because I'm panicking about this new job that I haven't been able to sleep Only in part tho... CAN THINGS SLOW DOWN!?)

Anyway, shouldn't be ranting about all of that here but somehow I always find a way, this is Masquerain using Whirlwind! Done for Game-Art-HQ and their amazing Gen III project. I was in Gen I and II, so of course I'm gonna snatch a few of my Gen II favourites as well! This is a really though one, because Hoenn holds a TON of my favourite mons, I haven't even made up my mind yet! Guess I'll see what's still available as I go on.

Chose to go with Masquerain first because it's one of my favourites design wise. It's just so interesting looking, I love it so much! Something about it is just me.
I like to imagine the white parts of Masquerain's wings being transparent. Makes it even more pretty, me thinks.

..................................It's supposed to look like it's flailing its fin thingies

Journal: Our POKEMON Generation III Tribute (118/270)
Update 22.01.2018
Almost 4 weeks and over 100 of the 270 possible slots are taken already with almost 50 Pokemon illustrations already drawn!
This made it by far the fastest growing one of our Pokemon Tributes since we started in March 2016.
Its great to see that more than the half of the artists that participated in our Gen I & II Projects before were returning already in the first weeks while we also got new artists on board that saw our journal here being mentioned in your descriptions. I also updated this journal to make it easier now to see which Pokemon did not get any claims yet
Beside the work here on dA, I was also creating the main gallery for this tribute on Game-Art-HQ.com already and we are going to fill the 130 (empty) individual galleries that are almost completely done already with content starting in the first February week!
Thanks a lot everyone for participating in this big series of Pokemon tribute, please continue to share the word about
Masquerain, Pokémon (c) Nintendo, Game Freak

Fun fact: the fin things are it's real wings, and the things on it's head are just big flashy antenna!

Still that aside, i really like what you did with the transparency and the whirlwind. Did this underappreciated bug some good. <3

You haven't slept for how long!? You crazy! Maybe you'll start seeing the other dimension soon. Also good luck with your new job~!

This guy does look pretty interesting I must say. You did a great job with him too!

You mean you don't see other dimensions normally? Bruh, you're missing out on all the colours!
New job is pretty awesome! Can already say it's much better than my old one! Now I suddenly start realizing how much I actually hated my old job even though I never wanted to admit it Rally hoping I can stay in this one! I think they'll tell us next Friday if they want to keep us around or not.

Thank you! C:

The exact same thing happened when I left my Wetherspoons job, I finally realised just how much I'd hated it at the time, haha! Think I was in denial desperately hoping it would work out. Super glad you've found something you like! Here's hoping for Friday~!

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-13 12:15:09 +0000 UTC]

Exactly! Was just slaving through each day, counting every minute of those 10 hours from I got out of bed till I got off work. Saying to myself "It's not that bad, I'm lucky to even have a job." while being about to sneak into the shot blasting machine just to try something new Gawd, it felt waaaaay too relieving to get fired. That heavy denial, yo... Wetherspoons was that crappy pop with the retarded timers, right? Good thing you got something better too!
So far I've got a week more, wohoo! I think this is just gonna be the pattern. Every Friday they'll tell me if I'm good for another week. I'm not really "employed" but more kind of a temporary substitute (if that's the word?). They're running late on some important orders and I can work there as long as they're busy. If I do good work they might employ me for real, whooh!
Last Thursday I burned my arm pretty badly on a heat gun, but other than that it's been awesome all around. I now respect the heat gun more than my mommy ಥ﹏ಥ

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-01-13 19:03:31 +0000 UTC]

Wetherspoons was mostly bad because the managers were assholes and they didn't make sure you got your breaks or that you got paid correctly. Was nice to get out of there in the end.

Ah I see, not the most secure job. But at least you got kept on a little bit longer, that's a good sign! Let's hope they remain busy and they do decide to keep you on full time, that would be awesome! Just don't go disrespecting that heat gun, yo. Seriously though, I hope you're alright. That sounds pretty scary.

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-15 19:41:50 +0000 UTC]

Ah, asshole managers too. Yeah that's trash! Wouldn't be surprised if they were cheating their employees :/

I've already been warned that there MAY be a gap ahead where they won't need me, but they SHOULD bring me back again a month or two later, and the agency people say that they can probably find me something else to fill that hole (making it sound like an emotional void). Still, so far so good xD
It seems to be healing a little funny actually Or maybe I'm just impatient. Perhaps burns take longer to go away than I thought... That heat gun didn't want me to forget it, nor the sins I committed. "Lucky" thing is, it was turned OFF too! I had just been using it and the wire was tangled. Fumbled with the thing to get the wire straightened out and the front, which was still hot AF, touched my arm DX Just imagine if it had been turned on...

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-01-16 21:05:42 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like that agency is taking care of you, finding you work in between the gaps in your current job, that's pretty awesome! I burnt my fingers when working in Wetherspoons, they took a couple of weeks to heal. And honestly that was just a tiny burn. I'm not really sure what you're supposed to do to help a burn... keep it moisturized I guess? Maybe some cream could help you. Good luck with it! Does sound like you were kinda lucky in a weird way.

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-18 21:16:28 +0000 UTC]

I hope so. The whole purpose of an agency like this is to help people find jobs when they suck at job hunting themselves, a.k.a it was basically made for ME You submit your resume, criminal record, school certificates, all that, and then they get you a gig. Heck, there are even some companies that completely disregard putting up ads when searching for new people. They just contact these job agencies and ask if they have anyone in their system who fits these'n'those criteria. It's a fast and easy way for companies to find employees without having to read through tons of applications and all that hassle themselves. All the more reason to be signed up in one or several!

COUPLE OF WEEKS!? Aaaaaw maaaaan Well, if I had any Rawst berries I'd just eat one of those... Unfortunately pokémon berries probably aren't real.
Bruh, that reminds me of that time I almost got shat on by a gull. I was walking in the street and this gull came flying like 4-5 meters in the air towards me. It was really pretty at first. I thought "How majesti..." and that was how far my thought got before it dropped a load that landed like 1-1½ meters in front of me as it continued flying over my head. To this day I still don't know if that means I'm lucky or unlucky!? Also, I can't shake the feeling it was somehow deliberately trying to hit me....

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-01-20 09:14:18 +0000 UTC]

I will really have to try using an agency in the future. I always have a tough time finding decent jobs to apply to. And an even harder time getting them to respond to me, haha!

Well when I was in school I got directly pooped on by a seagull, haha! Right down my hair, face and school jumper. Little bastard. As you can imagine that was a fun day with all the other children. They say getting pooped on by a gull is lucky though... no idea why it would be.

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-22 20:00:32 +0000 UTC]

So far it's definitely recommendable. Heck, the only full time jobs I've ever had have all been from job agencies... I've only been able to find little part-time deals here and there on my own DX

Lucky you! Goodness, I can just imagine... I guess it's because it's such an incredibly small chance of happening? Still. Getting hit by lightning while in a car accident on your way home from putting your pet down at the vet is unlikely too, but that doesn't sound like a nice day...

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-01-23 09:31:01 +0000 UTC]

I've only really been able to find part-time work on my own too. But usually I end up with jobs that have really low contracted hours but end up giving me tooooons of work. So I've been lucky in a way I guess. Is tiring though...

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-23 16:10:07 +0000 UTC]

I'd say you've been lucky then! I usually ended up getting even less than the few hours I was supposed to, pfffffffft! Better too much than too little though, right? At least you won't have to worry about bills and you can afford to get sick if that should happen. I had to stick it out at word with high fever sometimes 'cause I needed those damn hours DX

Oh hey, don't know if you remember the thing about my closet collapsing like a stabbed lung? Well! I finally bought a new one! I'll have to be careful about the weight this time. Apparently these can't hold as much as I thought... Cheap rubbish :I

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-01-24 09:40:41 +0000 UTC]

Oh man, that really sucks. Having to work when you're ill is the worst. Actually there was one guy in my current work place that was fired because he was sick 3 times in 3 months... that seems crazy doesn't it?

Maybe you shouldn't keep all those skeletons in your closet!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-26 21:50:32 +0000 UTC]

Whoa, three sick days in three months is nothing I've been in places where some people had at least one every week and nothing happened. That might be over the top, but one each month!? That's 12 days a year. I think most places allow 2-4 weeks? Not even sure... Seems kinda silly to me that illness is something you can only have a certain amount of in the first place. It's not like anyone can simply choose to not have the flu. Of course it's a problem if they're overall absent more than present, but you know, if they catch a serious cold in the winter and stay away for one or two full weeks, what can they really do about it other than wait for it to pass...?

Being flamin' gay is funniest when it's a secret tho!

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-01-27 19:34:22 +0000 UTC]

So far I've taken 2 days off work sick in 4 years, haha! I think that's pretty good going though. And of course I've gotten sick way more times than that. But if it's just a little cold I'll go into work anyway and selfishly spread my germs, wee~!

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-29 16:23:17 +0000 UTC]

Damn, your immune system is super human! That's quite incredible if all you've had to deal with are minor colds that aren't bad enough to make you have to stay home.

HEY HEY HEY! Sharing is never selfish! Good on you.

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-01-31 20:18:24 +0000 UTC]

Could be. Do you sleep much at night? I heard some science man say that young people actually need AT LEAST 10 hours of sleep each night, not only 8. Sheesh, just getting as much as 8 is hard enough... I only get that on weekends, hahaaa...

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-02-02 16:48:13 +0000 UTC]

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-02-04 15:37:23 +0000 UTC]

That's still fairly many, I'd say Especially since your job doesn't allow you to sit down much, right? I remember when I worked in cleaning, I would never be allowed to sit down from beginning to end. Had a supervisor who would absolutely chew us out like an angry monster-weasel if she saw us sitting down!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-02-05 11:04:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah it's pretty rare I get to sit down. But I'd say I get at least 20 - 30 mins on my butt every shift so it's not totally bad, haha! What an evil supervisor you had. Some people just get a power trip being an asshole to others.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-02-06 19:12:26 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeeeaaah... Actually this supervisor, unreasonable as she was, was a barking puppy next to others I've had. Hell, at the factory job I had a few months back there was this one c*nt who was so bad that I actually started making a game out of it! Every morning, if she did NOT start bitching at me within the first 5 minutes I would buy an ice cream. I got ice cream about once every two weeks... This one would give me shit for sitting at the wrong side of the table even though it doesn't mean a thing which side I'm sitting at, dead serious that was a thing that happened sometimes! It was never a question of if, only how soon. I keep finding more reasons to be happy to have gotten fired!

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-02-06 20:15:49 +0000 UTC]

I wonder how people become like that? They must be really sad and bitter about their own lives or something and want to take it out on others. Sounds like you were lucky to get outta there for sure!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-02-08 21:04:00 +0000 UTC]

Could definitely be true. When we first met, before I knew she was an asshole, I tried having a conversation with her. She told me she had always dreamed of becoming a nurse or something, but she didn't make the cut and decided to give up on all her ambitions. I asked her why she didn't keep trying, but she just gave me this UTTER defeatist attitude like it was impossible. Quite sad, I felt bad for her in that moment... And quite bitter about life in general, turns out. It became harder and harder to feel bad for her with how much shit she was giving me >O>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-02-09 11:55:15 +0000 UTC]

Aww man that really is sad. Still not a good excuse to treat others like crap though. I always think if I absolutely fail at something I've always dreamed of doing, I'll just find another dream to pursue instead. There's so many amazing things to do and explore!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Altarior In reply to SkullKidRoss [2018-02-09 20:37:44 +0000 UTC]

That's a much better way of thinking, definitely! It's tough to have to give up on something you really want. Even just being halted for a while is a pain DX But surely there are other great things to pursue. Or maybe even a different way to still get what you wanted in the first place, though it might not be obvious at first.
Whenever I start to lose hope in getting to where I wanna be I find that watching motivational videos on YouTube helps. It's REALLY corny. And perhaps REALLY cringy of me. But I can't help it, it really does make me feel a lot better and makes me want to keep trying

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SkullKidRoss In reply to Altarior [2018-02-09 22:33:44 +0000 UTC]

OH THE CRINGE. Hehe, I'm joking, motivational videos get me too sometimes. Heck a lot of the people I'm subscribed to are people that inspire me and I kinda wanna be like them I guess. Motivation is awesome!
