She's just so beautiful, I have such a love of the things you create, you manage to give them so much life as if you're sculpting a moment in their life.
All of your work leaves such a great impression on me, and makes me want to start sculpting!
Wonderful work as always .

amazing work..do you use wires and armatures to hold them up?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AmandaKathryn In reply to TwistdWolfartz [2011-02-22 04:06:03 +0000 UTC]

yes she has an internal armature

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TwistdWolfartz In reply to AmandaKathryn [2011-02-22 04:21:18 +0000 UTC]

oh ok..didn't think they would for their size

AmandaKathryn In reply to TwistdWolfartz [2011-02-22 21:35:31 +0000 UTC]

I always use an armature even in super tiny ones or huge ones.

TwistdWolfartz In reply to AmandaKathryn [2011-02-22 22:52:17 +0000 UTC]

so armatures are extremely important. I am trying to get into sculpting, just nervous for some reason.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AmandaKathryn In reply to TwistdWolfartz [2011-02-23 09:31:04 +0000 UTC]

yes, armature are very important. Dont be nervous. Ive never understood that at all. why does it matter if its not good? as long you can see WHY its not good, its progress and then as the next one is better. No matter how happy I am with a sculpt, I still expect the next one will be better. That is when I am not happy with myself, when the next one is not in some small way improved, because then what was point in sculpting it.

thank you so much for the advice and motivation. I guess all I can say is: Wish me luck. Will post progress. Please sharing yours..I love the realism you bring to your faeries.

Amazing! How long did she take? Also, what exactly does "ooak" stand for, and is this ALL clay? even the stringy areas? (not the hair of course >_> but the ends of the fins?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

AmandaKathryn In reply to Sara121089 [2011-02-22 04:07:41 +0000 UTC]

ooak = one of a kind. her fins are angelina film and wire, she also has paint, glitter and microbeads

Err.. I think I just realized the "ooak" is one of a kind. Other questions still stand. XD
