Description Ok, I had a brain fart and titled this Begonia.... it isn't it is the center of a Geranium blossom from a hanging basket I picked up yesterday. Stamen is a little less than 1/4" tall. I love the way it looks like it was dipped in sugar.

Nikon D90
Nikon 105mm 2.8 micro
Nikon TC200

Oh my...this is gorgeous! Great focus, and the colors are eyecatching. Overall, a very superb macro. Reminds me a bit of candy, hehe

Hi Melissa! Lovely colors going on here. Would you mind letting me know the efix data?? Cause I think I can help you achieve even sharper images.

Well, can't tell you everything. When using the TC200, it doesn't store all the information. What I do have stored is ISO-200 1/200 sec. no flash. More than likely the f was about f/2.8, making it about f/5.6 with the converter. The stamen is very tiny, about the size of a hair. The only thing I can think I could have done was use the flash and turn up the f stop giving me a greater DOF, but also would give a shadow. I need to look into a flash diffuser, or a cable for it.

Thats very interesting. I didnt know you could use a tc for macro. I would recommend using extension tubes. They are very easy to use and you get great results with them. You could try turning up the f stop, if you have a tripod then that is no problem. I have exposures sometimes in my macro work that go over 4 seconds. You are right though, as soon as you use flash you get some nasty shawdows going on. If you have to use it, get the diffuser you were talking about. That helps HEAPS! Well, if you have any other questions I can help with just ask.
