Description I was wanting to try out some bracketing exposure and hdr processing. This was taken from my sofa of some (on their last leg) flowers I purchased earlier in the week. I was very pleased with how it turned out and thought I would post.

I love the depth of field on this...it's one of those times that it just softly and gently smooths out and looks so lovely with the shape of the flower.

I still think it was a luck shot. But I have to say I am SOOOO proud of how it turned out. I have it as my desktop background The larger the view, looks even better! Now I hope my big head will still fit through the door... HA HA. I just wanted to see if I could do a realistic looking HDR (not noticeably HDR).

I think you did a fantastic job! And I know the feeling of pride for having a photo as your desktop, I made Vernal Winter into one for mine at work and I loooooove how it looks. All of your hard work definitely paid off!

This is actually quite simple and beautiful. Very nicely done on the HDR processing too.

Thank you! It was only my second attempt now at HDR. I think I got what I wanted, not too painted but dimensional. I only wish it were maybe a little brighter. But, all this comes with practice.

Well, definitely not bad for your second HDR attempt...
My second attempt at HDR I think was horrible... LOL I think I removed the photo from DA cause it was so bad

I have deleted some of my other stuff already, maybe 2 or 3 so far. But, I haven't been on long, and only had my DSLR since November, so there are many "bad" shots. I love the challenge of new techniques (thus the HDR trial). I really like the realistic ones, that to the general viewer, it only looks like a great photo. Seems to give it that extra "wow" factor.

I actually should put the software I used up there... it was free! Picturenaut

you should also look into getting a free trial of HDR Efex Pro.
It is by far my choice of HDR processing software... though sometimes I still revert back to Photomatix 4.0 when I need to process a bunch of files at once (usually for a panoramic image)...

Yeah, posting on the details what software you used is helpful to us admins... sometimes we look at an image and it doesn't look very HDRish to us, so we reference the description or image meta data...

I checked it out (Efex pro) and it looks awesome, but pricey. If I get into it more and better at it, I will consider it. I have it bookmarked. Still just learning basics of photography, challenging myself along the way. Thanks again for the advice and encouragement.
