Rivets, seriously? About how many? That's amazing!
I just started with metalwork, and with Dr. Who, but I was too indimidated to try to start a TARDIS. This is such an adorable idea though, and so well executed! Is it actually functional? I'd be scared to drop this pretty thing into boiling tea water....
Also, what kind of paint is that? Is it a chemical patina or actual paint?

Super, super cool....

If I remember correctly, there are around 30 tiny rivets holding the little guy together. It was a chemical patina for sure, but I think I picked it up from Sculpt Nouveau before I started making my own patinas. ...And while it would hold up to the heat, sadly it is not food safe. So glad you like it!

Very cool...I havent learned rivetes yet, so right now my only option to join metal is soldering....i'm looking forward to learning rivets. And the patina is lovely, i'll have to check out Sculpt Nouveau.....

Thanks!

Awesome!

I always wanted a vanity landline phone that would be cradled in a TARDIS phone box--not life size, just big enough to hold the phone--that would make the dematerialization noise for it's ring.

I adore this. Honestly, adore.

But, is it useable? Or would the patina ruin the tea??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Amazon-Butterfly In reply to Cramoisie [2009-10-11 07:12:05 +0000 UTC]

Sadly no, it is not usable... I wish. I've have thought about making one in silver eventually, but I wanted this one to look old.

Thanks for the interest!
