Description I had fun making this piece. Needle felted Hummingbird hovering over a pretty flower. The sculpture is 100% hand needle felted, however I did sculpt the beak and eyes out of polymer. SOLD

how do you needle felt./

To needle felt you work with raw wool roving or like material, you just begin to stab at it with special barbed needles. It starts to tangle and form a shape. You can then felt together the different shapes to form what you want to create. It's very tedious, each sculpture takes 10's of thousands of stabs, but it's very fun!
