ALMOST done with this but here is a halfway done shot.
It is official: I adore drawing in a Tite Kubo-esque style.
Ink and marker paper is a GLORIOUS slick invention for someone who loves using Prismacolor markers and Micron pens....
Basically the Battle of the World's Most Powerful and Polite Purple-Haired Priests By Whom the Shit Hits the Fan When Their Eyes Are Open.
When this battle ensued in Evo-R 12, I had NO IDEA who to root for, since these happen to be my two favorite characters *see my dA icon, lol*. It was "SUBARASHI HA HA HA HA" (name that Slayers clip!). And I was honestly pretty impressed when Rezo won.
I think my favorite part was when Rezo called Xelloss pretentious. Because number one, um, pot calling kettle black, LOL, and number two, he could have called him "murderous, duplicitous, vile, filthy cone-demon whom I shall END" but instead, it's like *Victorian pomposity* "I DO say, how pretentious!" I lol'd.
I enjoy that they both have purple hair, but of subtly different temperatures. I also enjoy that you can totally see Rezo's expression on Zelgadiss in over half of Slayers's action scenes, when he is fairly assured he has destroyed his opponent.

LOL there is no equivalent really. Bleach is uncanny because it mingles several anime tropes into one monster series. A lot of characters I have come across in other animes are reused with some tweaks, for example, in Bleach. And the convoluted plot...I would say frankly? Bleach is the anime version of LOST, if you are at all familiar with that show or JJ Abrams's other stuff.

I actually liked the final episode, but people who don't like happy fluffy endings full of forgiveness and still laced in engima would hate it. Lol. I didn't mind things not being answered but it pissed a lot of people off. It was "messed up" but I loved the convolution. I like complicated things. :3

WOW. Xelloss' eyes...er, eye...looks so creepily amazing! And I love how he has a little fang poking out. Teehee, so cute! And Rezo just looks really fucking cool! He's got that look on his face, like, "Come over here and say that to my face, you punk ass Mazoku bitch!"

I also love the texture of this, I suppose? I need to get me some of that marker paper too, because this IS gloriously slick looking.
and you know....I think I might like Rezo even more than Xelloss in this picture. Shockingly. lol there's just something about the expression on his face, or maybe it's the Kubo-esque style? idunno. But Xelloss is still number one in my heart!!

XD I love giving Xelloss fangs due to his "Wolfpack Island" roots. I think of him as some kind of wolf-cone hybrid lol.
THANKS. Rezo was more fun to draw. Xelloss just looks pleasantly psychotic, but Rezo has to look a mix of concerned, smug, and slightly sinister in return. And YES that basically was the attitude he assumed toward Xelloss in that fight, though well, Rezo had an interesting limitation at the time, but I won't spoil it XD he wasn't er quite HIMSELF

I kinda was too. Since Xelloss never dies, it seemed safe, plus Xelloss has an unfair advantage as a super awesome demon. But anyway XD Thanks, GOD I loved drawing their facial expressions XD
