American actor and comedian. Starting as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the mid-1970s, he is credited with leading San Francisco's comedy renaissance. [8] After rising to fame as Mork in the sitcom Mork & Mindy (1978–82), he went on to establish a career in both stand-up comedy and feature film acting. He was known for his improvisational skills. [9] [10]
After his film debut in the musical comedy Popeye (1980), he starred or co-starred in widely acclaimed films, including the comedy-drama The World According to Garp (1982), war comedy Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), dramas Dead Poets Society (1989) and Awakenings (1990), comedy-drama The Fisher King (1991), the animated musical-fantasy Aladdin (1992), drama Good Will Hunting (1997), and psychological thriller One Hour Photo (2002), as well as financial successes such as the fantasy adventure film Hook (1991), comedy Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), fantasy adventure Jumanji (1995), comedy The Birdcage (1996), and fantasy adventure-comedy Night at the Museum (2006).
In 1998, Williams won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. He also received two Primetime Emmy Awards , six Golden Globe Awards , two Screen Actors Guild Awards , and four Grammy Awards throughout his career, and was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2009.

Your ability to capture the illusion of life in his eyes and expression is truly astounding! This work is also a fine tribute to one of the best comedic minds of our time. You capture his essence in this artful rendering. The classic style of the piece lends a somber air to the visual experience.

As someone who is a fan of this actor, I must say that you did a wonderful job on him! Robin Williams was not only a comedian or an actor, he was a family member anyone could have. He was also a legend and as someone the Genie even said, he was that one "friend like me." In fact, he was like a friend to all of the world.
Very wonderful job on him and describing his life. He was an inspiration to us all and now that he is gone, he will dearly be missed by us all. RIP.

It’s baffling to comprehend that it’s already been two years since the man lost his battle against depression, and that one of the most consistently funny men of generations could so expertly hide such a horrible sadness inside of him. I only wished I would’ve got the chance to meet him and say thank-you for all the laughter he gave me, both as a child and as an adult.
That sadness, that age, that seen-it-all look really comes through in this expertly-done portrait of the man, approaching his final years. His penetrating look pierces your soul and makes you, for just a brief moment, see the things he saw, and how they consumed him whole. His bushy, prickly beard showcases how he just, seemingly, rapidly aged overnight, as if all those memories he blocked out came rushing back in.
This portrait of yours, had it been done just those couple of years earlier, I’m sure would’ve put an enormous smile on his face. The excellent beard work, the perfect head shaping, that detail in the eyes… It’d have been like looking in the mirror for him, how far he’s come, and how much there’s left. You’ve combined all those tools (the pencils, erasers, blends and pads) to create yet another simply amazing portrait of a legend.
There’s not much else I can add except, like your Kobe Bryant piece I commented on many years ago, that this deserves a place in my “Honorary Class” collection, whatever that means to you. The attention to detail, the love and the effort that went into bringing Robin Williams back, well, it’s crystal-clear from the very start. Amazing job, and please keep bringing these greats back to life!

Hell of an artist, and humble too. I'm kind of a small fish in the DA world now, but hopefully that class will mean more as I do more.
