At first I must to expalin this pic. Dragon Ball series is plenty of stranger brothers ( you know, Mutenroshi-Baba; Crane Sensei-Tao Pai Pai,C-.17/C-18, etc..)...But I find the most interesting of all them are they both: Goku/Kakarot-Raditz.Why? well, Goku becomes into an hero and he's the legenday Super-saiyan (I don't care for DBall movies) And he has been really happy along his whole life.
However, Raidtz is just an mussonderstonding and danmed character: he spent all his life under Freezer's and Vegeta's tyranies, he was the weaklest of all saiyans and he hadn't any motive to live but to obey Vegeta and to take revenge of Freezer... And when he found out his brother could be alive and went to Earth, he saw Kakarot was and earthlier, not a saiyan, and finaly Piccolo killed him.
It's kind of deperesing, isn't it?
I ever liked this part of the story and I find is a nonsense in many ways, so I had the feeling to make a nice pic like this, about the "carrot" and the "radish" ^_^U
At first I did it with chinesse ink and pencil colour, later I altered with Photoshop, but I also have other version made with watercolours.

Je, exactamente. Raditz tiene muchos fans, por lo menos en Japón. Es un personaje que podría haber dado mucho juego, pero que básicamente salió para revelarle a Goku su verdadera identidad... y luego morirse. Toriyama no se complicó la historia con él. Una lástima.

Yeah, that's something the author himself even forgot. In the end, Goku thinks on Piccolo as something else closer to him that Raditz himself. I also would love to see him more around. He had the potential to be a very interesting character.
Now, Japanese fandom loves Raditz. It seems they always are found in forgotten characters. It also provides us of toons of fanarts and doujinshi.

I know how ya all feel... it was somewhat strange to me that he just suddenly seemed forgotten in the story later. He's Goku's BROTHER! Bleh. That makes me think somewhat...
Anyway, this picture is awesome. Such great detail and such. And the realism makes it more awesome, especially on Radditz. *nods* Now I gotta finish my Radditz pic I'm making... >.>

You're right on the story 'bout Raditz, I was thinking exactly the same thing. It's totally not fair that Goku even commits suicide to try and kill Raditz, and then he does everything to keep Frieza alive, he doesn't even KILL Frieza. Trunks does, yay for Veggie's family. Anyway, he would have been a really great character (I think he is no matter what anyway) if he just got a chance. I think Toriyama has something against the Saiyans.. I mean, they all have to die. Turles, Bardock, Raditz, Brolly, etc.
Now, about the pic. I think it's really great ^_^ I've seen it before on Dragoness Eclectic's Lair website (great site in my opinion, she's got some of the best Raditz stories on the net o.o). Very nice work you did ^_^ (by the way, thanks for joining our little Raditz fanclub

holy shite...this is absolutely awesome! i love how they're kind of semi-realisticly anime. if that makes any sense. >_>
there need to be more Radditz fanart pieces out there. you're right when you say that he was very misunderstood! i still think Radditz should've gotten a second chance or something.
