West of the Fields is a fine example of a winter scene that communicates the feeling of the day very appropriately. The exposure is spot on, which could have been very tricky considering that amipal is facing into the sun and dealing with a reflection. Bearing this in mind, exposing to include detail in the foreground shows attention to detail. The muted colour cast creates the feeling of a real atmosphere, and adds real elegance to the shot. The composition is nearly spot on, and would benefit from panning slightly to the left to exclude the somewhat distracting tree branches on the right side of the shot.Overall, West of the Fields demonstrates an awareness of what makes a photo work, and shows that time has been taken to take the photo well.

Thanks Adam, very little I disagree with there! I have to say I'm quite surprised how the image turned out, as facing the sun carries implicit risks in image quality.

Lovely photo - I think the colours and composition are perfect! Tis a shame about the watermark.
