Description Each year for George Harrison's and John Lennon's birthdays, I try to do something artistic to show my appreciation for them. No matter that they're both gone now. I will not let them fade from my memory. George was very into the Hindu religion and belief system, so I thought it would be fun to base this year's "birthday present" on that subject. He'd have been 61 this year.

This image was inspired mostly by a painting of Shiva and the Richard Avadon photo . I started drawing it on Monday night. George's birthday is actually February 24, 1943 (which was Tuesday), but for a long time he thought it was the 25th. I don't remember the story behind this, but you can see it mentioned as being the 25th in lots of old magazine articles form the 60s. I don't remember when he found out it was actually the 24th or I'd have it here. Drawn in pencil, scanned and coloured in Photoshop 7. The only problem I have is his left (our right) foot. It just looks wonky. Oh, and the reason purple is prominant is because it was George's favourite colour. :b The words in the top right corner are lyrics from his song, "The Inner Light," which I also made the title of this deviation.

Happy Birthday, George. I love you and I miss you. Hare Krishna.

Love! This is a concept I've seen many times (heck, I even did one [link] ) but I never get tired of seeing the coolness of Many-Armed-George. He looks so very serene. His right hand--er, the one making the "ok" sign, not the one with the eye--seems a little oddly-placed, but I still think this picture is sexy. Fav'd!

The farther one travels, the less one knows. The less one really knows...

Oh, god, you made me cry when I read this. Getting to be that time again. Excellent work in the face.
