I mean, just taking pictures as you're working through a painting, to show a little of the process. Like this one: [link] Except as a demo you wouldn't truly have to write as much as that. That's more of a tutorial. A demo would basically have photographs of each step inserted into one document.
The main difference is that a demo just shows how it is done and a tutorial goes into more depth-- neither has to be a video, though.
