After digging around in my room for a sketchpad, I unexpectedly found this drawing staring me right in the face. Turns out I drew it years ago, at the age of sixteen! Talk about a blast from the past!

I'd only partially inked the thing (as some of you may know, I have an irrational fear of messing up the fluidity of the pen line) and it looked very much in need of long overdue love and attention. As a result, not only have I FINALLY inked all of the outlines, but I have edited it as well. I suppose you could classify that as upcycling, in a way.

Ouran High School Host Club is to this day my favourite anime. It has the most wonderful, hilarious and surprisingly complex characters, and revisiting it feels like getting a big bear hug from an old friend. It simply never fails to cheer me up when I'm having a crap day (which, if you're anything like me, is no easy feat)!

The Hitachiin twins are my two favourite characters from the show. I've always had a particular soft spot for Kaoru, with Hikaru coming in at a very close second place. Their relentless trolling of Tamaki is hilarious, too! X'D

Whilst drawing, I remember stressing over getting them to look exactly alike. In the series however, it's been shown that several of their personality traits, expressions and mannerisms can differ quite drastically at times. So I thought it would be better to draw differing facial expressions, to try and hint at the fact that they're individuals, rather than complete carbon copies of each other.

They look a lot like they're taking a silly selfie together, in hindsight. Something I'm sure they'd want to try out (perhaps as the latest commoner trend)!
