Large file is large! As usual, comments are welcome. c:I've been using this as a warm-up painting for something else I'm working on, but oops, I finished this first. It's fan art for the lovely comic Nimona, about an awesome young troublemaker who sidekicks herself to a big-league supervillain: [link]
I love the sketchy, line-based style of the comic, but wanted to do something more painterly as fan art, so here we are!

Oh wow, this is excellent! You captured them perfectly, and they look so good in your style! Really wonderful job on the colours. I am especially amazed by Nimona's scale mail.

Thanks! I haven't really painted scale mail before, but it was a lot of fun to do - actually, it's been a while since I painted big swathes of metal in general, and I'd forgotten how fun all the reflections and stuff are to fiddle with. x)

Just photoshop - I mostly did it with one brush that has my favourite brush settings x) because, although I've downloaded a whole tonne of awesome brushes other artists have made, PS has been freezing lately when I use even slightly complex brushes and I keep losing my progress. Eep!
