My second entry for the Star Trek contest here: startrek-club.deviantart.com/jβ¦Captain James Kirk is greeting dignitaries arriving for the Khitomer Conference of 2293. Numinor and his little sister Yumi of Zotra have just arrived, but Yumi is bored already and begging Numinor to let her explore while he chats with Kirk.
Numinor and Kirk were made specifically for this contest. Yumi and the shuttlecraft are both posted elsewhere in my gallery. Numinor and Yumi are both from the 1980's cartoon Ulysses 31.

I love the movie-era outfit, and I've been sitting on the pattern since I made the shuttlecraft, waiting for an excuse to make it.Β Also, Movie VI is one of my two favorite Start Trek movies and inspired this piece. Movie IV is the other and inspired my NCIS piece.
Ulysses 31 was on television briefly in the early 1980s and the full series was never released on DVD in the US, unfortunately. It was a cartoon produced originally in France. It is basically a futuristic (space-faring) version of the Odyssey,which I loved so much that I read Homer's unabridged version in middle school, and it reminds me a little of some of the Star Trek animated series episodes.
