Description And a day before I leave for another short vacation, I pump out part 2 of the Ruins trilogy in the DoD comic series. ^^

We see the guys wondering further about why the village was attacked. The third part will be more interesting, I promise. XD

The mystery deepens! Aside from how our mingled ideas for this scene's dialogue help to generate interest, this also has other dividends. In addition to Marc showing he's got some brain power, it also shows that this new team is starting to mesh into a unit. Take, for instance, how the group is pooling their observations about the scene. It shows that, despite being mostly recent acquaintances (with obvious exceptions, of course) it seems like the group is beginning to trust one another. Nothing like brushes with death to make for a bonding experience, eh? This is also accented by the unspoken, but fairly obvious, agreement that further investigation must be done. On a side note, the background you chose was impeccable, as are the character sprites. I'm sorry if I seem a bit short, but my computer needs a reboot to clean out some malware. I'm going to sign off for now, and I'll catch you later.

Yay, glad you got to comment before I left, Falchion!Β  Thanks so much. ^^

And yes, I agree, adventure can create some strong bonds.

On a different note, are you planning to do any more character official art anytime soon?

I understand. Also, Morgan's wackiness seems to know no boundaries. In her B support with Gerome, she began speculating aloud about his reasons for wearing the mask and he got really pissed. Pissing off Gerome...makes you wonder is amnesia and inter-dimensional travel combine to generate suicidal tendencies.

I'm starting to wonder if she might be a split-personality instead of a sadist, since the two aspects of her character - namely, the diligent tactician-in-the-making and the air-headed prankster - are such wild opposites. Or, maybe it's a unique side-effect of her amnesia. I'm no expert, but it has been alleged that memory loss causes radical shifts in personality. But, maybe both Morgan's pre and post-memory loss personalities are still in that crazy head of hers? It would explain a thing or two. I also think she should've had supports with Chrom and Sumia. After reading fanfics on the subject, I was kinda disappointing not to see Morgan wind Chrom up by calling him grandpa.

Heh, I see.Β  That is a good theory.Β  And yeah, it would've been funny to see Morgan wind up a first gen character if he/she is the kid of one of the kids. lol

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Falchion1984 In reply to Anacybele [2013-09-23 08:38:51 +0000 UTC]

I thought the first gen was Chrom, Lissa, etc? I don't get it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anacybele In reply to Falchion1984 [2013-09-23 17:10:47 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they're the first generation.Β  I mean that it would be funny if Morgan ended up being the grandchild of one of them and could support with them as a result.Β  For instance, if I married Frederick to Cordelia and then a male Avatar to Severa, it'd be funny to see Morgan wind up Freddy or Cordelia by calling them grandpa and grandma. lol

By the way, while I was gone, I managed to beat the Lost Bloodlines 2 DLC map and get Alm (a main protagonist from FE2) as well as access to the Dread Fighter class (a class that was in FE2 and can use swords, axes, and tomes in Awakening).Β  Which rocks, especially on Frederick. Β  He is so friggin SEXY in that outfit!Β  And those flips with a sword that these guys do.Β  Just wow.

I made Frederick a Dread Fighter so he could get Resistance +10 (since his res generally sucks without some help) and a boost in resistance as he levels up.Β  I'm not having him use tomes though, cause he'd do very little damage with them and I'm going to make him a Great Knight again eventually anyway.Β  He loses a bit of strength and defense, but he still tanks everything for me and yet is faster now. ^^

Falchion1984 In reply to Anacybele [2013-09-23 17:29:34 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that would be a funny picture. And, interesting bit about the Dread Fighter. I'd heard the name, but little else. Sounds very tantalizing, and thanks for telling me how to get it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anacybele In reply to Falchion1984 [2013-09-23 17:55:38 +0000 UTC]

Ah, no problem!Β  Just remember though, Dread Fighter is a male only class.Β  The female counterpart is Bride and is accessed when you beat Smash Brethren 2 (another DLC map that earns you Eirika, who is a Bride in this game).Β  Bride uses lances, bows, and staves.Β  I don't know if I'm going to use this one though.

I also reclassed my Avatar to Dark Flier for Galeforce and a cavalier knightxPeg knight thing between her and Freddy. lol

Frederick is a Dread Fighter for me now, but he's still a knight at heart. ;D

Falchion1984 In reply to Anacybele [2013-09-23 23:30:06 +0000 UTC]

Frankly, making Eirika a Bride makes little sense to me. At the very least, she should still have her signature rapier. Making her a mercenary instead might also have been the wiser course. Or, for that matter, using a different name than Bride. Shield Maiden, perhaps? Those were female warriors from Norse mythology, and it seems a good fit for Eirika, since she was likened to such a figure by Saleh in their supports. Replace one of the Bride weapons with a sword, and I'd call it a perfect fit.

Yeah, other people had said Bride didn't fit Eirika either, but eh, I don't really care for her, so it never mattered to me. xP

And yeah, Shield Maiden sounds a bit more like her.

Oh, interesting.Β  I've been playing Zelda: The Wind Waker HD since it became available on the Wii U eShop.Β  I never liked the original game, but I got the HD one cause I did like a few things about it and I wanted another Wii U game that I'd be willing to play.

I've noticed one key change so far.Β  You have to rescue Tingle right away as soon as you get to Windfall Island for the first time.Β  In the original game, you didn't have to save him until way later when you need him to decipher the Triforce Charts.

Also, this HD version is actually a bit more fun with the new Tingle Bottle feature that replaced the Tingle Tuner from the original game. ^^

I've also been sick, so I didn't go into work today.Β  I was getting sick yesterday too, but I needed to go into work because I'd already called off a lot of time for that trip I was on.Β  But today I just felt even worse. >_<

I might need to do that myself. Everybody is at level 20, but Frederick and Ricken got mulched in level 22. And, Robin and Sumia have had quite a few close calls lately. I have a stock of Second Seals, so perhaps I'll put them to use. Anyhow, I hope you feel better soon.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anacybele In reply to Falchion1984 [2013-09-25 01:17:27 +0000 UTC]

You mean you lost FREDERICK?Β  If you used Second Seals on him and got him more levels, he should be on par with everyone else.Β  Maybe you didn't level him enough?

And thanks, so do I.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Falchion1984 In reply to Anacybele [2013-09-25 02:11:03 +0000 UTC]

I didn't lose him, I'm playing casual. But, maybe I need to use Second Seals, as you said. Aside from him, Ricken and Sumia also got mulched a few times, and both Robin and Cordelia have had some close shaves. Libra also seems to be having trouble mustering enough oumph against foes with sturdy defense. I already have the Second Seals, from chests and dead foes. So, maybe I ought to put them to use.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anacybele In reply to Falchion1984 [2013-09-25 02:19:11 +0000 UTC]

Oh, okay, I see! lol

And yeah, Second Seals will give units chances to increase their stats further.Β  It would solve the problem of someone getting screwed in a stat.

Falchion1984 In reply to Anacybele [2013-09-25 02:31:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I figured. At first, I thought that was for class experimentation, but I see they also have more practical use as well. Anyhow, I'm likely to need to use them on these guys.

Robin
Frederick
Sumia
Kellam
Ricken
Cordelia
Libra

The others seem to be doing fine, as near as I can tell. Say, is a stat maxed when it's shown in green numerals? If so, I think my Donnel is likely a prime specimen.

Anacybele In reply to Falchion1984 [2013-09-25 03:19:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, class changing enables units to get more skills and more stats.

And yeah, a stat shown in green numerals is maxed.Β  My Donnel was nearly maxed out before I promoted him as well.Β  Morgan's magic stat is maxed too, even though he's not using magic in my file. lol

Yup. On a semi-related note, if your own Awakening fics, have you ever mulled over the living arrangements with regards to Antoinette and Morgan's present and future selves? I'm a bit of a sucker for such occurrences as this.

Frederick: Antoinette?
Future Antoinette: Yes, father?
Present Antoinette: Yes, daddy?
Frederick: *facepalms* As if Exalt Chrom didn't cause me to sprout enough gray hairs.

I always was a sucker for running gags. But, seriously, have you ever considered a post-Grima fic?

And yeah, the story about Morgan's birth and Frederick and Kelli surprisingly finding Kelli's mother is going to be a post-Grima fic. lol

Falchion1984 In reply to Anacybele [2013-09-27 19:41:18 +0000 UTC]

Ah, so it's post-Grima rather than just post-Gangrel? Gotcha. Have you made any more headway in planning it out? I know we did some brainstorming not long ago, but I'm not sure what's happened on your end since then.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anacybele In reply to Falchion1984 [2013-09-27 20:09:02 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.Β  And not much, actually.Β  Been focusing more on the current FreddyxKelli fic (the honeymoon one) and the next chapter of Bonds of the Beloved (which I totally need to actually start. xP).

But I did come up with a name for Kelli's mother.Β  Her name is Cristina.Β  It's based on the default name of FE12's Avatar, Chris.Β  I also have a kind of lolzy idea in mind for the part where Frederick had already brought Kelli to the nearest clinic after that one idea you had happened (where she was hit with an attack that caused her to go into premature labor).

*nurse finally reenters the waiting room and approaches Frederick.Β  Frederick stands up eagerly and nervously*

Frederick: Well?Β  How did it go?Β  Are my wife and child alright?Β  Please, I'm so worried!

Nurse: I can tell, you're so shaky.Β  But fortunately, you managed to bring your wife here just in time.Β  She gave birth safely after her wound was treated and will be fine.

Frederick:Β  A-And my son?

Nurse: *smiles* ...He made it too.

Frederick: *tears of joy build up in his eyes as he remains silent for a moment* ...Oh!Β  Thank you... *sniff* Thank you so much!Β  I'm so...I'm so relieved! *pulls the nurse into one of his famous bear hugs*

Nurse: Whoa there, big guy.Β  You've got a tight squeeze!

Frederick: *lets the nurse go* Ah!Β  I apologize.Β  I'm just so happy and so thankful and grateful... *sniff*

Nurse: *smiles* And that's understandable.Β  You did just save your family's lives, after all.Β  If you hadn't brought Lady Kelli in when you did, one or both of them might have died.

Frederick: Indeed...Β  And the doctors here made sure not to let that happen after I arrived.Β  Oh, thank the gods...

Nurse: Quite agreed.Β  Though, if you don't mind my asking, how did you know that the baby is a boy?

Frederick: Oh... *scratches the back of his head* I...uh...Β  Well...um...Β  Kelli and I previously...had a doctor guess the gender.Β  Looks like he was right.

Nurse:Β  Oh, I see.

Haha, Frederick isn't sure the nurse would believe him if he said that he met the future older version of Morgan. XD

I'd half expected either Lissa or Brady to handle the patient, maybe say something to the effect of "So, when do you plan to introduce Morgan to himself? or "Stable time loop completed." But, this also works. And, showing Frederick's softer side was a nice touch. One thing I'm wondering, are you planning to have Morgan being born early to have lasting effects? Depending on just how preterm he is, the effects could last well into his adulthood. I've been doing some speedy research on the subject, looking for possibilities. I'm guessing that, since he makes a good tactician, he wouldn't have the neurological impairments that some preterm children would have. But, perhaps there's a psychological effect that fits nicely. You'll notice in this article (healthland.time.com/2011/08/01… , preterm children often display a great deal of drive. Female Morgan did in my game, and I'm guessing Male Morgan does as well? Perhaps there was a touch-and-go phase of the birth and/or the recovery afterwards which made a lifelong impression, and got little Morgan eager to succeed? Just a nutty notion, but it could work.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Anacybele In reply to Falchion1984 [2013-09-28 16:02:30 +0000 UTC]

Lissa and Brady are both too far away at the time, plus I figure neither of them would know how to properly deliver an infant AND make sure Kelli's wound was treated and didn't cause complications at the same time.

And yeah, male Morgan seems to have a lot of drive too, as he also bangs his head against a wall to try remembering his dad and stuff. lol

Premie children are also typically small in stature, which both Morgans are compared to the other kids.Β  I know, because I had a friend back in kindergarten and first grade that was a premie and she was even littler than me (and I've always been pretty short myself).

But yes, this could work!
