Out of the four couples, this is the one I never liked one bit... however, that doesn't prevent me to enjoy this fantastic materpiece!

In the (old) anime, Jupiter had this flick for falling in love with any random guy in sight, but somehow she resisted his charm 
Second would be MercuryxZoycite, just because it's too funny how that drama-queen and the shy genius could fall in love!

that's how it is in Japan. i heard in the news, well it still the same, about woman working in Japan this 2015. for leadership, or a boss etc. but it depends on the anime production studio, cause some female authors are listened too for their work in the 90's... but its a different studio, so too bad for Naoko at that time.
that's why she has no control in the old sailor moon anime 90's. the directors did that fillers. also naru is not a main character, and she can be with Umino. and that did not really happened, and it seems like neph changes due to brotherly love, and he is too old, lol, and the senshi are human, but not exactly human, and are eternal. in the original, he was killed by Jupiter and then revived and become a stone, same thing with jadeite/rei.
hehe. sorry just sharing. even live action- it says- by the director, producer, not by naoko- to give its freshness or something, and uniqueness and changes things from the original. so its not Naoko directing the script lol. 
i can't find the interview, but i read that Naoko supported the shitennou/senshi

but Naoko didn't created sailor moon 90's anime. the directors did. she is more in control of the new anime now.
it was only a filler. so it never happened. but what really happened is jupiter and nephrite in the original manga, and crystal- cause Naoko wanted to add it in crystal. example, Mamoru is 19 in the sailor moon 90's. , not 17years old in the original and crystal only, meaning neph is really old in the 90's anime. and the rest of the many things that are not done by naoko, like rei mamoru, 3 star light, zoicite feminine, cause the animator thought he was feminine in the manga, but neph and zoicite,actually the two of them disguised themselves as female. so, naoko was shock, especially with 3 star light. and a lot lot lot more. but its interesting,what you wrote... i am thinking of a fanfic soon. may i used that idea? i love Jupiter... and after seeing episode 5, last year, i become a fan this Jan. hehe.

I wasn't complaining about anything, or blaming Takeuchi-san. I also did read the manga some years ago, and both versions had things I liked and disliked.

i feel the same way actually, i especially hate the long fillers that doesn't involved anymore about the original, but i don't mind fillers, but i hate super long fillers that are nothing to do with the real plot and original of the story. but what i love about our childhood favorite, (doesn't matter what year it is in our country)... is that when it centered the sailor scouts (well mostly jupiter for me in the old sailor moon)... i don't care about the extra character. they are only an ordinary human, and extra sub characters so naru/umino, could be with each other, but again, in the original manga, i really don't care if they don't shows up anymore or with anyone either, for all i care, sorry, just that i am into the protagonist and main characters more. me and my batch mates and friends are just anxious to see sailor jupiter, (*as far as my memory could reach i remember i was 9, so its 1993), and anxious to see Venus, and the outers more...... cause we have the previously published first manga where the Shitennou/senshi was together in one art. so we did not really take that episode with the extra sub seriously in our days. but focused more on the new coming Senshi.
i understand, what you mean, same here i am not blaming her or anything, its not Naoko who did most of the 90's anime, but i still like it when it centers the sailor scouts, main protagonist,main character. when i read her interview, (but then again, all manga authors have different cases) but she had it worse when it comes to her original, . i remember people who watch sailor moon in my school are as anxious as i am to see Jupiter, in the anime in my country. anyway, i also dislike something in the new crystal, and i am not used to Jupiter's new Japanese voice, and etc. and aside from that, other few more things. mainly about Jupiter,- about this and that in the manga, (sorry won't mentioned it here, but will be in my other journal or other site), that i wanted more of her, because i am the biggest super fan of Jupiter and etc etc.and same here i don't used to appreciate the manga when i had it back in the early 90's untranslated in any language yet, but Chinese, and Japanese. so even if i/we have an idea about the shitennou/senshi, i didn't really cared much about them, cause for me its boring, and i felt bored with motoki as a character as well (no offense to everyone please, hehe, that's just me) so i cross over jupiter to someone fr yuyuhakusho, ironically, when i stop watching anime at 1998, naoko and yuyuhakusho author got married around 99'. lol, and since i cross her over to that anime, i just find it funny. just found out about it, like around 2011 or 2010. cause i was not into anime for a long time, but after i saw crystal i think my mind changes and converted to like the shitennou/senshi, and since Jupiter is my freaking top favorite of all time, Jupiter/Neph is also my top favorite. before i only love the senshi, and changes my mind completely in some way about the manga, well after the crystal that is. i love what they did to Jupiter/neph and jadeite/rei. as well as act 10 crystal. with kunzite/minako, and zoicite/ami... so far that's the only thing i love in the crystal, as naoko's doing to prolong their life, and she support her original pairings as we could see now in the new crystal anime that she wants her viewers to see, and i am glad they finally gave makoto the thing that she deserves, what is originally for her. and her spotlight at that moment in episode 5, despite my other little complaints about the voice but trying to adopt,etc etc. but the interaction betwen jupiter and nephrite is just wow a complete turn over for me. even if Naoko didn't reach the deadline, , even though they turned to stone in the end like in the original, i guess i am okay with that, i mean they are still stone anyway and not completely dead unlike what happened in the old 90's sailormoon that the anime directors directed, not by Naoko. and besides, the sailor senshi are eternal or something, and they are mamoru's knight, so they could totally be still with each other when Usagi became a queen, who really knows right?...but i believe its a possibility, cause the shitennou mocks the human being in crystal, so they aren't completely ordinary human like the sailor senshi. about the manga, and crystal, if its about involving about Jupiter or the other senshi in the new crystal, as a character alone, and about their looks, etc... i do understand. but that would be in another topic... but i agree, i also liked some part in the old sailor moon, since its my childhood anime, and also dislike some many things from a different series and episodes, and as for the crystal, but i will keep tuning in until it ends, to see if they don't do unfair stuff to my favorite. Oh well. hehe. ill cut that off, before i turned it into a new conversation. i will write it soon in my journal about that. i think i already wrote something like that in another site. and i really really know what you mean. i forgot to add that i was thinking about what you wrote that made me want to write that as a fanfic.
coincidentally, i was thinking about it, before reading your comment. so after i saw your comment, it made me want to write an fanfic even more about it. if im going for the angst, romance category, but not sure yet. hehe .cause i really felt bad for jupiter, for messing up what is rightfully hers, and she is not even an extra character, but a main character. although i did felt bad for ami and venus as well... because they made kunzite/zoicite. when they aren't even gays or in that kind of relationship in the original, but i think they did sht to Jupiter even more and i feel 10x bad for her. i don't know, maybe i just really love her! as in obsessed when i was a kid and i'm still a fan up until now. that i think she deserves more spotlight! cause i kind of felt that something was unfair when i was a younger while watching the 90's sailor moon series,manga whatever ( referring about her as a character about this and that, to her alone), not about the shitennou but ironically again, while my past complaints are resurfacing up, this new realization that i found, just added up to one of my past issues. when crystal shows up, my realization to the damage that they had done to her on the outcome, due to those directors doing their own story line, messing up Jupiter's original partner that naoko intentionally made for her. as well as the other two Ami, and Minako, but they did injustice to Jupiter more . sorry, i am now ranting, and my past feelings are starting to regain its full memory back as well while writing this) but then again, i also like the things that the directors did to them even when its not in the manga, like the spotlights of each of the Senshi, once in a while as a filler in the 90's anime. and i also have complaints in the crystal, but regarding about how i want more about Jupiter's past, etc. okay ill stop that topic off somewhere.
i would honestly say that im super glad that they gave her what is rightfully hers. what Naoko specifically chooses her to be paired with, one and only Nephrite like in the original manga, and her moment on that episode! i know Naoko said they could be independent without a lover and does not need a guy to make them happy, and serving the prince and the princess, and being in that age makes them want to date etc. i wanna blame the old guys in the production that she kept mentioning. at the time when she was doing the manga. maybe it could turn out differently, cause naoko keeps pointing out that she won't allow her work to fall into the old man or in the anime directors, or whoever it is, cause she wants her real work to be made and be appreciated and for many more reasons as inspiration to girls etc etc,but she still didn't have any control in the 90's anime. so i am not surprise why the age of mamoru and the guys are way older like in their 20's, cause it really seems like pedo to me, not about mamoru and usagi, i guess they are exempted in a way, since they have been past lovers ever since, and there is no specific age for the senshi, usagi when they were still in silver m. anyway. good thing though, the shitennou/senshi have no relationship even in the past in the old sailor moon anime. or totally never mentioning it. and besides, the story line is completely different anyway. so for me, the shitennou/senshi has no past in the old anime. and its a good thing, cause its better that way, than the senshi going out with older guys. its bad for the kids to watch and be brainwashed that its alright if you are 13, 14 or a lot younger, going out with a 20 plus year older guy, like ahem naru the extra sub character,so yeah! its more like of a brotherly little sister friendship kind of that made him a good guy. cause its really creepy. so she is better off with Umino, they're both normal human beings anyway.. but yes, the 90's anime is not her doing. so its completely and basically not her original work, if mamoru is 17 in the original, and 19 in the old sailor moon by the 90's anime director, its a contradiction, and shouldn't be compared to become one where the plot is so different. so i am guessing that's the reason why she said that she wont let them take over have her own original work. but i still like the idea with the shitennou senshi even though she didn't reach that deadline. so i am really thankful for seeing it and naoko, for pushing through in the crystal... i would just like to think that they could wait patiently for each other... pertaining to shitennou/senshi, when usagi/mamoru starts to reign. i wouldn't mind that at all. i would still like to apologize for a long comments, i really tend to write long, sigh., and i love sharing info. hehe

In the Sailor Moon manga, there's a couple hints there too (she has a huge blush when they remember "meeting").
Although, it's kind of cruel that the Inner Senshi (especially Minako) never get their true love. I mean, the Shitennou were only brainwashed like Mamoru was, and later in the manga their consciousness is still in their stones. I always thought the last chapter could have at least shown them revived or something.

Same here! But I guess I was naive at ten years old when I read the manga. I believed all the girls would have a prince at the end and I thought the shittennou would be revived to continue serving Endymion. While I'm older and don't believe every girl needs a prince to be happy, I'd love more light to be shed on the Shittenou and if they are tied to the inner senshi in any way, that'd make things juicier in my opinion.
