Description Here is the final version of the painting that I used for my "tutorial"  (which you will find in my scraps gallery).  All I did here was to color in the landscape with a few shades of green and blue, a little bit of light purple and some cadmium yellow

Thank you!  I don't know how many years I played around with it until I came up with that particular way of doing it   Cool that you like it

Thank you for the faves and good words, too --  Your own work is really fantastic!

thank you!

another thing i've wanted to say: While i'm sadly not an avid reader type, so i admittedly don't read your works a lot and just enjoy the pictures

the times that i have read into the picture descriptions i've really been blown away by your writing ability, you are so good with all the interpersonal drama stuff, your writing makes me wonder "were they there!? did they live thru this? you describe things so well it's like you lived it.

keep up the great work

Andibi In reply to VoicesinQuartz [2019-01-16 22:34:41 +0000 UTC]

That's perfectly OK -- I can't say I'm a big reader myself.  Time is a lot more precious than it used to be and it's much more efficient just to take in a picture   In this light, I really appreciate that you *have* done some reading of my stuff and can see what I'm trying to do.  Most of what I write is indeed based on personal experiences of one kind or another (except that I don't live in a tribe of deer people)

Thanks very much for your nice comments -- they've made my day!

Great landscape. I love the softness and serenity of the scene with the gentle rolling hills and stream with the lighter colours

Thanks again!  If you can get your hands on some acrylic paint, definitely give it a try -- It's fun to do and once you get the hang of it, it's really rewarding.  You think that you can paint anything!...

I appreciate your good words as always -- Thanks again!

Ooooou~ Awesome!!! My sister actually has some acrylic paint so I can totally try to give this a try!
I use to love painting with acrylics a long time ago, so I think it would be nice to give it a try again!

And you're very welcome~!!

Oh... i saw a deer... just drinking... but then ran away...

I think you missed it. But if you sit down and watch the picture patiently, maybe you can see one, you too.

Very nice details on/in the water. ^.^ So nice and realistic. The water stands out prominently. Very detailed, and i really like it that, as the surface of the water reflect the blue of the sky.

Hm. I finally could saw, how it's made. Hm, It was interesting to see how was built up. I always wonder the traditional artist, because they/you not have so many margin of error... I mean, the traditional artists, can not make a lot of mistakes, because the artwork ruin.

I very often, again and again i could draw some detail, or all work, because the digital canvas can not get hurt, except when I cut into it the little-axe. :'D

But digital or traditional art, both of which are equally valuable (- at least for me).

Andibi In reply to wolfzol [2018-11-27 02:26:28 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm...  I always miss the good things...  I will stare at my picture and wait.  Maybe the deer will come back.  But first, I will paint some apples and carrots, to improve my chances

Thanks as always for your kind words    I'm glad the picture looks good to you.  The "how it's made" process is fun, too.  My version is nowhere near as neatly polished as yours, but it's remarkable that I was able to do anything at all

Traditional art can be a little unforgiving, but the more you plan ahead, the easier it is.  Some mistakes are easier to fix than others, but often it is a lot of extra work if you make a wrong turn.  Usually you can see the "fix," too, if you look carefully.  To be able to correct mistakes perfectly with digital art seems amazing to me

Heh, I have destroyed plenty of real canvases -- It probably feels better than destroying a digital canvas, but maybe not?    I agree that both digital and traditional art have equal value -- Each has its own merits and I have seen masterpieces  from both sides

wolfzol In reply to Andibi [2018-11-30 18:51:05 +0000 UTC]

Pff. You cheater!
Hmm. But if you can do it. Why not? It's not cheat... it's ability.
I heard somewhere, if we think, draw, write something... that, these will be exist or come into existence in a alternate universe.

LOL... The things are  equal for us... The digital art seems amazing to you. But... The traditional art seems amazing to me.

Unforgiving... For a little? Hah. I think you wrote this very gently/softly. Hm. Yeah... i see. I watched some tutorials and speedpaints... and in live, some artists how to draw or paint.
Sometimes(or often), you have to see forward/advance,  what you will want  to do.
It's never easy. I almost never see in the future... The picture in my head never clean/pure and sharp. I always trying/experiment...
If i get to a level/state, just then i start to see the next one... but the end? Oh my... no...
I'm afraid that, if we want to it, never ending... because, always we can develop something in the picture. Sometimes (or always?!) it's hard to see the limit... the perfection (real/needful) between the perfection (wish).
Heh... i mean... the perfection is don't exist (individual point of views)... just momentary state/plight...  Is there an exaggerated perfection? Hm.. Maybe yeah. When you don't see the differents between them. When it does not matter to the eye.
The eyes is limited... For colors and sharpness. Is not it?

Yeah! "What's beautiful, that's beautiful. What's art, that's art!"  And by the way too... the beautiful and art are relative concept.
Which is nice for me...  For you, not sure... and vice versa. O_o

Pff.. It was really no trouble. You're very welcome! ^.^

Andibi In reply to wolfzol [2018-12-01 00:35:07 +0000 UTC]

LOL Yes indeed!  It is as you say, a question of ability.  In my case, it would be the ability to successfully draw an apple or a carrot   I could probably make it look OK, but it might taste horrible -- like paint, maybe

I like your idea of thinking, drawing, or writing something that actually exists or will exist in another universe.  It depends on one's cosmology, but it seems reasonable to conclude that we who are created cannot ourselves truly create -- We can only discover and imitate.  Perhaps it sounds depressing initially, but it's actually quite fantastic

On traditional art, it is definitely difficult to plan ahead or see the future of the drawing or painting -- The first vision in the head does change, sometimes quite a lot   Even when one develops the discipline of planning ahead, there will still be wrong turns.  So one tries his best to make the mistakes easy to correct (I'm only half-joking here   ).

You make a good point about the picture (or the vision of the picture) never ending.  I believe that the greatest artists understand this truth.   They always leave something a little unrealized, so that both the artist and the viewer can continue to develop the picture -- even though it may be hundreds of years old by then   If perfection exists, it is beyond humanity's ability to understand -- An artist can only open the door to perfection by "idealizing" the facts of nature.  But nothing we know is perfect, not the artist, his vision, his eye, his paint, or his tablet.  There is only the dream of that which is perfect and beautiful  (and it is relative, like you say).  But often this is enough

Good words as always, my friend -- Thanks very much!

Only because (I suspect) you have never painted any rivers.  Paint just one and all that will change.  Seems to me that you become proficient in many things really quickly

sintel16 In reply to Andibi [2018-11-29 23:21:00 +0000 UTC]

You suspect right
but I dont think I could do rivers so lifelike

🤔I can safely say I am quite good with coping stuff, can copy practically anything, but it’s painting from my head, my own, original is the difficult one

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Andibi In reply to sintel16 [2018-11-30 05:43:19 +0000 UTC]

If you are a master copyist, then it's only a short step to copying what's in your head!  I think you can do it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sintel16 In reply to Andibi [2018-11-30 17:24:35 +0000 UTC]

only of I wasn’t  so lazy😜
and tried harder then who knows what might have happened

but with the stuff in my head, believe me-I’m nowhere close to being able to copy it from there

Andibi In reply to sintel16 [2018-11-30 22:36:19 +0000 UTC]

Ha, well, it can be a New Year's resolution   And as for the visions in one's head, I suppose that goes back to what is and isn't possible to replicate...  I have to admit that I have had some great ones that I didn't even attempt, 'cause I knew they would be failures as works of art.  --At least if I were to make them

sintel16 In reply to Andibi [2018-12-01 19:47:58 +0000 UTC]

I read somewhere that new year resolutions don't work, so I think I won't be making one this year,
but I have my list   that I have to work on

Cool  -- I'm playing my way through "Conan:  Exiles, "which as you may know is one of those open-world survival games.  It's the same thing; you can go just about anywhere, at least until you try to cross the wall of evil magic (and then you go back to your spawn point, minus all of your gear) ...
